This inclusive international school is the Editor’s Choice for the diversity and learning support categories at our 2025 Singapore Education Awards.
Inclusivity is at the core of Overseas Family School’s (OFS) approach! The school goes all out to support its students, and we mean this in every way possible. This year, at our Singapore Education Awards 2025, it’s the proud recipient of Editor’s Choice for the Diversity and Inclusive Community Award and Best School for Learning Support — here’s why it’s a top pick.
So, how exactly does OFS champion diversity and provide fantastic learning support?

With a Mother Tongue Program that offers a staggering 15 languages, OFS allows students to stay connected with their cultural roots. When we distill it down, it’s all about finding a way to celebrate each student for who they are, and a big part of that is where they come from! The school does this through various cultural events throughout the year, such as the annual global picnic, a dynamic culture fest, International Day, and more. A highlight is the performing arts and music showcases, where students band together to showcase performances from their individual cultures.
Other than recognising the school’s 65 nationalities, OFS also acknowledges that some students require a little more help in their academics or day-to-day routines. It has a wonderful multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), which consists of an integrated team of learning support teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and a nurture specialist. This team is closely acquainted with each student, and works together to come up with a cohesive plan that’s tailored to individual needs.
How did OFS prove that it’s top tier?

We especially like how the parents are actively involved through parent association cultural workshops, where they get to experience cooking classes and craft sessions inspired by different cultures. No better way to enjoy that big family spirit, we say! In addition, the MTSS is an impressive five-tiered system unique to OFS. Depending on the level of intervention, the type of support offered may look a lot like close monitoring of progress, additional educational small-group tutoring, or pull-out sessions for one-to-one mentoring. Beyond this, OFS helps its students to cultivate real-world skills like confidence, resilience and independence, helping to thrive in both school and society.
It’s a big thumbs up from us, OFS!
