See storybook characters come to life in 2015
Singapore produces some great theatre for kids and our little ones are more than willing to clap, sing and awe their way through it all. But every January there is an extra special treat in store when KidsFest comes to town! And January 2015 is no exception.
We’re all set to snap up our tickets quick smart to this ever-popular, annual extravaganza of world-class theatre for kids; the only problem is deciding which amazing productions to get seats for. Not only are they all tonnes of fun, they’re educational too. Here’s where we’re at:
This stalwart children’s book has also reached epic status as a West End production… The Tiger Who Came To Tea! There’s no way we (oh, and the kids) can miss the chance to see this famous London stage show make its Asian debut.
The Snail and the Whale is a favourite bedtime read in our house. The idea of going along for the ride in real time with these two friends, big and small, to every corner of the globe is too good to pass up. So tick – yep, we’re signing up to go on an epic adventure visiting icebergs in Antarctica, and volcanoes in the tropics.
Hugless Douglas has been such a sweet book for our kids to learn from, that it just makes sense to reinforce the positive messages it imparts by seeing it live on stage. We’ll be front and centre to help this brown bear on a simple search for the perfect, warm embrace! Aawww.
A field trip back in time to discover dinosaurs? We’ll be hard-pressed to resist the opportunity! During Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo, kids become part of history as the true story of the largest creatures to walk the Earth is told one giant step at a time.
Last year, we learned about the Awful Egyptians and Terrible Tudors, and it might be wrong to say it, but it was a hilarious! We just can’t help but watch again as the Horrible Histories series returns with some more on those gruesome Brits in the form of Vile Victorians and Barmy Britain Part Two!
All-time classic, The Princess And The Pea, is on the billing this time around and we might have some very unhappy people on our hands if we miss the chance to see it come to life. Especially since this production has an element of surprise – we won’t be missing this rendition.
And last but not least, our all-time favourite show, The Gruffalo, is set for another run. We saw this one last time and the way that mouse outsmarts everyone is so clever that we have to show it to the kids again.
So, all in all, it seems we’re absolutely no help to anyone in narrowing down the options – we want to see everything! What we can say though there is a 10% discount when booking 2 shows and 15% discount when booking 3 or more shows.
This is always a sell-out event so book tickets for KidsFest 2015 quick-smart at at SISTIC. Tickets range from $42 to $62. You can also call 6348 5555.
