Say hi to Selina: the latest member of the HoneyKids team
Hi all,
I’ve just joined the HoneyKids team as Editor, and I’m not going to lie: there was a bit of jumping and squealing when I landed this gig. Hunting down the coolest stuff to see and do in Singapore with kids? Yes, please!
Singapore is an amazing city to be in: I had both of my boys overseas, and life here is a game-changer for parents – you really can experience it all and have it all as a family: amazing travel, top-notch attractions, a rich cultural scene and seriously cool stuff for kids. Singapore is always buzzing, always evolving, and I’m looking forward to joining the ride with you.
It’s our mission at HoneyKids to provide our readers with food for thought, share our fave finds and keep bringing you loads of fun. I want to know what you think, too: get in touch to let me know what you want more of, what you think is cool in town and if you’re up to something special that you want to shout about.
So here’s a little about me:
I grew up in… Sydney, and have been lucky enough to live in Florence, Paris, London and now here!
My childhood was filled with… crazy cats who ruled the house. Including a ginger named Chuckles – after my dad’s favourite action star, Chuck Norris.
Motherhood to me is… about waking up on a Sunday morning by being squashed by two tiny maniacs and having my heart burst with bliss. (Or maybe that feeling is a fractured rib.)
I wish I knew… how to get on top of this whole motherhood business. What, I’m responsible for turning these critters into responsible members of society?
The most amazing thing about Singapore is… chicken rice and laksa on tap.
I can’t wait to try… eating my body weight in chilli crab on a regular basis.
My boys are… survivors. And the most hilarious, insane and loveable little people I’ve ever met.
If I can do just one amazing thing this year it would be… going back to El Nido, Palawan, in the Philippines to snorkel with the technicolour fish and kayak around spectacular limestone cliffs at dawn. Most amazing place on earth!
My childhood crush was… John Travolta as Danny Zuko in Grease. Oh dear.
So, this is how I was welcomed to the HoneyKids team: an aerial obstacle course through the forest, which involved scrambling up rope ladders, crossing a suspended path of swinging logs, and zip lining over Bedok reservoir (which was pretty exhilarating). Warm welcome or gruelling initiation ritual? Life here is going to be interesting…
