Singapore Sisters is a shoutout to all the wonder women who are helping us raise our kids - a photography-led book all about Singapore's helpers
Living in Singapore, we’re lucky we have the option to have our own personal wing women: our helpers. These incredible ladies help us run our households like clockwork, not to mention they make sure our kids always eat their greens.
They bravely leave their home country, family, and children so they can come and help us out with ours. Their dedication and sacrifice is nothing short of amazing. That’s why family photographer extraordinaire Hayley Durack, says it’s prime time for these women to have their stories heard. So she’s shining a light on their incredible journeys through her brand new book, Singapore Sisters.

Here’s a snippet of what you can expect
“The images in this book are predominantly taken from shoots where I was commissioned to photograph a family. What always struck me about these women was their natural kindness. They would be there in the shadows, supporting their employer, wrangling unpredictable toddlers and overactive pets whilst quietly going about their daily role in the background of a photo shoot. During the shoot, either I asked, or a member of the family asked, if their helper could be in some photos too. Their smile! They would beam with pride, smiling from ear to ear to be asked to join in a photo,” explains Hayley.
The book is an archive of images of these beautiful ladies and a tribute to their hard work, sacrifices, dedication to their work and the love they bring to our families. We say it’s about time.
