What Sets This School Apart
GIIS offers a premium international education to students in a modern, 21st century learning space at a moderate fee, that is almost 40% lower than some other international schools. Our flagship SMART campus at Punggol features over 40 skill-based studios, multiple performing arts spaces, high-end sports infrastructure and digital classrooms to provide students with a balanced education.
Our 9GEMS framework is an award-winning holistic approach to education which is aligned to the school’s mission of producing well-rounded individuals. The framework fosters all-round development in students with special efforts taken to develop students’ excellence in the following nine areas – academics, sports, visual and performing arts, innovation & creativity, entrepreneurship & leadership, personality development, universal values & ethics, community care and skill-development.
The school's unique performance-measuring metrics, called 7S, tracks and monitors each student's academic and all-round progress thus enabling teachers to monitor and provide a systematic development plan for each student.
Exciting New Developments
GIIS now offers a full-day Kindergarten programme for children aged 2.5 to 5. The “Extended Global Montessori Plus” programme from 9 am to 3.30 pm incorporates the Montessori approach, while adapting modern best practices in preschool education.
The 6-hour programme for Nursery, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 students has been thoughtfully designed to include:
- Language and mathematics lessons, environmental awareness, music and movement, practical life lessons, motor skills development and sensorial exercises in the morning
- Story-telling or a manipulatives session every afternoon
- Dance, Speech & Drama, Art, Physical Education and Creative sessions involving Design Thinking and Maker Spaces on a rotational basis every afternoon
This programme provides preschoolers a good balance of academic and skills development. Social skills and self-confidence is developed as children have more time to interact with their peers. There are also many opportunities for young children to sharpen their cognitive and sensory skills through this programme. Our specialised Kindergarten educators personalise every child’s preschool journey, within the safe and child-friendly environment of our campus.
