When it’s haze season in Singapore and the PSI levels are too high for kids to play outside, it’s time to stay indoors and protect those lungs. But we all know that staying in with kids can result in a temporary loss of sanity. Before you jump off the deep end, gather your brood and head straight for one of these indoor venues…here are 10 places to escape the haze, maintain your cool and have fun!

Ten Pin Bowling
Get goofy and strap on those Ronald shoes at Super Bowl or Orchid Bowl. Both have multiple locations and very reasonable rates at under $5, whether your visit is at a peak or non-peak time. Check their websites for a list of locations and session times.

The world’s first green library for kids is in the basement of the Central Public Library. There is a magical tree house centerpiece where you can pull up a branch and read. Sign up as a borrower to bring books home.

Eat Play Love
This café and craft hybrid is a sweet little place to while away a few hours. For the wallet friendly price of $5 for 2 hours (on weekdays), kids can get busy with free-flow art while parents have a cuppa or two. Bring home your creations or even purchase some affordable craft packs to bring home and keep handy for rainy day activities.

Amazonia
The recently renovated Amazonia play centre (all 9000 square feet of it) is arguably THE go-to indoor family entertainment hub in Singapore. It boasts an eight-metre high slide, five-level play gym and super-fun zones like the Space Ball shootout, the nine-hole 3D Glow Golf putt putt, the Jungle Play Gym, and the Toddler Play area. Your active kids will also go crazy for the great range of toys including LEGO, dolls, a mini-kitchen, building blocks and sound-activated play panels. And there’s a cafe for the coffee quaffing parents – yipee!

Choose a ceramic animal or object to paint (huge selection of paints available) then return later to collect once they’ve been fired in the kiln. Painting on canvas, batik and scrapbooking is also available. The best part? No need to book. Prices depend on the craft chosen.

Amped
Bounce on 5000 square feet of interconnected trampolines at Singapore’s first indoor trampoline park. Timeslots available for small bouncers but it may take a little forward planning as sessions can get booked out in advance. Admission is $9 per child under 12, and includes a parent. If your child is under 3 you can jump along too and if they’re over 4 you can watch while your child has your heart in your mouth! Various opening hours so check the website for session times.

Gardens by the Bay Conservatories
Children will love an exploration in and around plants from cool-dry regions around the world inside the Flower Dome. Walk the ramps to scale a 35 metre high mountain inside the cool-moist atmosphere of the Cloud Forest, and catch a view of the forest canopy below on descent as well as the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. The standard rate of entry to both domes is $15 for children over 3 and $28 for adults but cheaper if you are a resident.

PLAY at National Museum of Singapore
PLAY is a 700 square-metre space at the National Museum of Singapore where kids can role-play and learn. There are areas to dress up, see short films, cook and learn about local ingredients, and there is even a dedicated performance space. Entry is free!

Snow City
Rug up and get down the slopes on a snow tube together in Singapore’s only sub-zero environment. Liquid Nitrogen Experiments and an educational Ice Gallery are on offer too if sliding on tyres ever gets tired. $23 for a child aged 3 to 12 will provide 2 hours of snow play or pay $16 and get one hour plus Science Centre Admission. Adults are charged at $28. Jackets and boots are included in admission but you can hire waterproof gloves and pants for a small additional fee.
