Dover Court International School brings home big wins across three categories in this year’s Singapore Education Awards 2025, all thanks to its inclusive approach!
Looking for a school that excels in all aspects, while being proudly non-selective? Dover Court International School (DCIS) is one of our best bets, which was just proven in our recent 2025 Education Awards! It came away with three awards: Gold for the Diversity and Inclusive Community Award, Silver for The Curriculum Awards (British), and Silver for School Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
The school is lauded for being wonderfully diverse and inclusive

DCIS is the Gold winner of Diversity and Inclusive Community Award for four consecutive years. This achievement is due to its inclusivity, where the school ensures that everyone feels welcome and valued. Diversity goes beyond passports in this school; on top of 60 nationalities in its student body, DCIS is a school that welcomes students of diverse learning profiles. It recognises that every individual progresses at a different pace and towards a different goal — which is facilitated through a pathway model developed by its OBE-awarded former principal Dr Maureen Roach.
Today, around 10% of DCIS students benefit from additional support and have access to a skilled team of speech and language therapists, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, and an educational psychologist. DCIS prides itself on ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued. Although only a small number of students receive additional support, the school goes all out to cultivate values like kindness, empathy, and intercultural sensitivity; and even provides neurodiversity training for all teachers and staff.
We especially like how school spaces like the primary school canteen and classrooms feature flexible layouts. In addition, Sixth Form students participate in training to become ‘Inclusion Ambassadors’, helping to raise awareness and understanding of differences. Events like Culture and Community Week also strengthen the ties between the students, allowing students to learn about different cultures in a fun and interactive way.
This inclusive approach results in a strong community spirit

At DCIS, knowing a student’s name is just the beginning. School staff endeavour to know each student well, and build a strong rapport that will stay with them throughout (and even beyond) their schooling years. In doing so, the school prioritises efforts to ensure that every child feels seen, heard, and valued.
Each year begins with ‘Tell Me About Your Child’ meetings with families, and dedicated teacher training that revolves around familiarising staff with students’ backgrounds and learning profiles. To calm first day nerves, Early Years applicants experience a no-pressure play-based ‘Stay and Play’ session together with their parents. This gives children the treasured chance to get to know their peers and teachers before formally starting the term, and helps the school personalise learning from day one. It’s no wonder that DCIS is recognised as the Silver winner for our School Where Everybody Knows Your Name category.
Which, in turn, produces fabulous results!

Students are exposed to a top-notch British education, which is rooted in the National Curriculum for England. It has differentiated curriculum options, such as BTECs, ASDAN, and the IBDP, alongside a three-year I/GCSE programme. The result? 95% of its 2025 IGCSE cohort scored A* to C grades — which are among the highest results in Singapore! DCIS students also earned an average of 36 points in the recent IBDP, and 100% pass rate for the BTEC. The best part? Anyone is given an equal opportunity to achieve such success due to the school’s non-selective admissions process — which allows students of any background or ability to enrol in the school.
Students are encouraged to undertake self-directed learning, in alignment with thinking routines developed with Harvard’s Project Zero. A global perspective is cultivated through enrichment programmes such as LAMDA and the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, with the UN Sustainable Development Goals seamlessly integrated into daily curriculum. All in all, DCIS doesn’t just prepare students for examinations; it prepares them for life.
Way to go, DCIS!
