Here's what to look out for
The Boutiques Fair for November 2014 is here! And it’s as busy as ever. If you want to make a quick dash to splash some cash between lunch and school pick-up, here’s our guide to the best kids and Christmas finds to make a beeline for:
We love the November edition of the Boutiques Fair first and foremost because their is always a selection of pretty baubles. To deck the halls in style, we remain loyal to stalwart vendor, Galanga Living who offer decorations that are neutral and rustic. The deconstructed look of the decorations and wooden trees at Make Room are a new favourite.
The sweetest end of year pressies for teachers come in the form of hand-stamped vintage spoons from Shiva Designs Bespoke, with messages like ‘you’re a spoonful of magic’. Just add sugar!
The lovely pastel linens from Feroza Designs make for delicate and lightweight gifts both in terms of Singapore weather and for posting internationally. The graphic repeated patterns across their signature dohars please kids and design-conscious parents. For Christmas we have our eye on the soft sleepwear and cute kids sun hats.
To complete the bedroom theme and give kids a refreshed room for yuletide, we loved the new line of cushions from Ni-Night featuring owls and deer. Very sweet and scandi.
If your family or a gift-worthy friend is jetting off for Christmas, the travel wallets from Tribe Bags are a great idea. Not only do they look good, they keep you hands free in transit, compactly holding up to 6 passports and your tickets all in one place.
Take care of mini aviators with their very own in-flight log books. These nifty journals from Simply for Flying are a novel way to keep kids occupied while you’re up in the air. They do call for input from the captain too which should make things interesting for them and for you! Alternatively, the handmade Waldorf dolls from Nina Bobo make for lovely travel companions and come with their own accessories for play.
For a truly Singaporean gift, we loved the brightly patterned Merlion toys from Forty Red Bangles. These are the nicest take on a souvenir we’ve seen and we plan to gift a few to friends.
And last but not least, if you want to pick several gifts in one go then we suggest you make your way to Hola Linda, where you’ll find beautiful artisan products including bespoke cushions, artwork, and jewellery.
Happy Shopping!
