If you’re often disappointed by resort family rooms that just don’t live up to their name, take a peek inside the lovely new rooms at Intercontinental Samui in Thailand, with all the perks for kids!
Dreaming of an easy vacay from Singapore with the kids? The title of ‘family room’ in a hotel is often just another way of saying ‘a room that’s a bit bigger. No really, it’s bigger’. Not so at Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort. Book your next family holiday here to experience a family room that’s well thought through, with a fantastic supervised Kids’ Club and a stunning Thai island location to boot!
When we first took a peek at the family rooms at Intercontinental Samui our hearts skipped a little beat. Mini bathrobes! A toy treasure chest! Rocking horses! Huge, brightly coloured beanbags! The exclamations could go on, and with good reason. All too often we check into a hotel on one of our Singapore getaways only to find that the ‘kid’s pack’ consists of a two-page colouring book and a pencil stub, and we’re forced to carve out a play area in the tiny space somewhere between the shower and the end of the bed. But here, the important details have been covered – and then some – in 65 square metres of luxurious, relaxing comfort.
If you decide to enjoy the rocking horses and treasure chests for at least three nights you can also take advantage of the ‘Family Pleasures Offer’, which is sure to keep both kids and parents happy. The package includes accommodation (with a king size bed and a lovely bunk for the kids), daily breakfast, free meals for the littlies, and access to Planet Trekkers Kids’ Club. The best part for mums and dads? A 60-minute body massage each, and two hours of babysitting services with a certified nanny every day! And, just in case the little people start to think the olds are having all the fun, a Junior Master Chef Class is thrown in for good measure.
Now that we’ve covered the family package and the jaw-droppingly good family rooms, you might like to hear a little about the resort? Well, there’s really not much else to discuss, unless you’re impressed by the seven swimming pools, the big, secluded beach, 22 acres of land to explore, stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand, two tasty restaurants, two stylish bars, and the divine HARNN spa. On many a holiday we’ve gazed longingly at these kinds of features from afar, strategizing over how each of us can get some ‘me’ time while making sure the kids are happy. We think the Intercontinental Samui has really done its best to help us all make it happen, striking the right balance of ingredients for the perfect family beach holiday: a good dose of luxury, a big dose of fun, and simply allowing the space and atmosphere for kids to be kids.
