Astor International School is a boutique international primary school in Singapore that provides education for children 5 to 12 years old (Years 1-7). Founded in 2019, Astor aims to provide quality, affordable education in a nurturing environment that develops life-long learners with a passion for knowledge.
Astor – nurturing the unique in every child!
Individual Approach
Astor International School is a single-stream primary school with a maximum of 18 students per class. Your child will benefit from individual attention and a low teacher-student ratio that allows teachers to offer personalised education and to adjust lessons to students’ needs.
Effective Curriculum
Our curriculum is based on International Primary Curriculum (IPC), British English and Singapore Maths. Our enquiry-based teaching methods benefit children by promoting curiosity and engagement and deepening comprehension.
Flexibility
Astor International School concentrates its core curriculum into a four-hour period and allows you to customise the rest of the day to suit your family and your child. Each school day, students can leave school at 1pm, stay for lunch and/or attend one of our many enrichment classes in areas like art, music, drama, sports, foreign languages and many more. The fees for our enrichment classes are flexible too. You can pay for them per term for a single class or purchase a full-week enrichment classes package with all classes included.
Central Location
Astor’s cozy campus at Tanglin provides the perfect environment for your child to enjoy their learning journey. Besides the spacious, naturally-lit classrooms, we have a library, an arts and craft room, two outdoor playgrounds and an indoor play space.

What Sets This School Apart
Astor International School is uniquely positioned as a small community-based school where every child is noticed.
Our cosy campus in Tanglin Road is limited to 150 students. Our classes average 12 students and do not exceed 18 students per class. This allows our teachers to take an individual approach, and to adjust the curriculum to every student’s needs. Our competitive advantage in this ever-changing world is flexibility. We are able to listen to the feedback of parents and adjust our educational approach to their children.
Astor provides even more flexibility by letting parents decide on how much time the child spends in school. This unique concept opens a world of possibility for every family. You can pick up classes that interest your child from our offering, or let your child finish earlier to explore other interests - either at home or in another activity environment.
At Astor, we are constantly working with parents to make sure the education is relevant to their children. For example, our extracurricular activities (ECAs) are constantly adjusted and new options are regularly introduced. The current choices include art, music, drama, sports, foreign languages and many more. We will offer ECA programs in any foreign language that has a demand of four students or more.
Astor’s Vision is to change face of international schools in Singapore. We honour that vision by being approachable and flexible and by providing quality education at an affordable price.
Exciting New Developments
Astor International School was previously known as Razum International School. The rebrand took effect on 15 August 2022, the first day of the 2022-23 academic year. The school’s new website at www.astor.edu.sg is now live with the new branding.
The school’s new logo preserves the bright red text of the original brand, and now incorporates a tree to symbolise growth, development and nature: fundamental elements of the school’s philosophy.
The rebrand happens at time of growth and development of the school. Astor has just expanded its class range, and now offers classes from Year 1 to Year 7 (ages 5 to 12). It has recently opened a custom-built new outdoor playground, expanded its enrichment classes offering, and extended its campus lease.
“It just felt like the right time for a brand refresh,” says Elena Holloway, the school’s founder. “I feel like we are now getting the payoff from three-plus years of really hard work. I’m so proud of what the school and its staff have achieved, and of the amazing parents and students in our school community.”
“We’ve always wanted to provide learning that is enjoyable, creative, student-centred and affordable, and I feel like we have now made that a sustainable reality. We now welcome students from 20 different countries. Our enrichment classes include cooking, drama, tennis, coding, swimming and language classes and many more. We are diverse and flexible, both for our students and the parents who entrust their children to us.”
School Culture
It is a place where children are allowed to be children and they learn through awareness, creativity, fun, caring and wellness, which are 5 fundamental values in Astor International School.
