I spent a long weekend with my family at Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa, and here’s what we loved.

My family of five based ourselves at Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa, a sweeping beachfront property on the pristine sands of My Khe Beach, and enjoyed a relaxing escape. Whether you’re a couple after a luxurious coastal retreat, a family looking for something that delivers on the five-star promise, or a golf enthusiast chasing spectacular fairways with a side of ocean views, this resort is perfect.

The hotel: First impressions count
From the moment you step into the ocean-view rooms, you’ll be entranced by stunning sights of the South China Sea. The Sheraton brand’s trademark plush bedding, cool marble surfaces, and sophisticated design set the tone immediately. My family absolutely loved returning to the room mid-afternoon just to enjoy it. The resort also offers rooms with private plunge pools – a great option for couples seeking an extra layer of seclusion.
Tip: Ask about positioning when you book, as the privacy between neighbouring pool terraces can vary.
The amazing swimming pool
Oh, and don’t miss out on the infinity pool at Sheraton Grand Danang. At 250 metres long – the longest in Da Nang – it’s jaw-dropping, the way it stretches toward the horizon and dissolves into the sea beyond the infinity edge. I recommend lounging here at golden hour with a cold drink in hand.
For families, the adjacent kids’ water park means the little ones are fully occupied. For everyone else, kayaking is available on the pool itself (yes, really), and the happy hour prices will make you glad you stayed poolside until sundown.
The food: Worthy of staying in for an indulgent meal
The Grill, the resort’s signature steakhouse, has taken home the global “Luxury Resort Restaurant” title, and it earns every accolade. Think prime cuts, impeccable service, and a setting to match. If you’re a couple celebrating something (or simply in the mood to treat yourselves), this is your table.
For something a little more barefoot glamour, head to La Plage, the resort’s beachfront seafood restaurant. We had a long, languid dinner here that ticked every box: fresh seafood, attentive service, and a setting that reminded us why we travel in the first place. The staff are genuinely lovely and thoughtful in small ways that add up to a great meal. Tip: book a table as the sun goes down!
A quick word on breakfast: the morning buffet at Sheraton Grand Danang is extensive, beautifully executed, and staffed by people who will remember your coffee order by day two. For a resort of this scale, that level of attentiveness is rare and deeply appreciated.
The spa, golf, and the great outdoors
Block out two hours, hand your phone to someone responsible, and get yourself to Shine Spa for Sheraton. The spa is calm, professional, and expertly designed to make the outside world feel far away. Couples’ treatments are available and highly recommended!
Tip: If you’re on a budget, venture into the surrounding neighbourhood to find local spas offering rejuvenating massages at a fraction of the price. It’s a wonderful way to experience Da Nang beyond the resort gates.
Golf
For golf enthusiasts, Da Nang’s credentials speak for themselves. The resort sits in proximity to some of Vietnam’s most celebrated championship courses. Pair a morning round with an afternoon at the spa and an evening at The Grill, and you’ll have a memorable day.
The beach
The beach at My Khe is long, wide, and beautiful. However, when we visited in January, the surf ran wild and strong. Swimming conditions are calmer from around June through August, but even in the cooler months, being beachside is a pleasure in itself. Morning walks along the shore with the resort’s coffee in hand are a particular highlight for me.
Beyond the resort: Where to explore
Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa’s location is ideal as a launchpad for the wider region, and it would be a shame not to use it.
Hoi An
Hoi An is the jewel of the central coast. Sitting about 30 minutes away, it’s well worth the day trip to explore the ancient town’s lantern-lit streets, riverside restaurants, and artisan culture. For dinner, Mango Mango on the Thu Bon River is a must — we thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I’d also strongly recommend doing a local cooking class: the half-day experiences run by local schools are brilliant, personal, and memorable. Getting there is easy and affordable: a Grab taxi from the resort is significantly cheaper than the resort shuttle and just as convenient.
Marble Mountains
Marble Mountains make for an excellent half-day out. Think five dramatic limestone hills scattered with caves, Buddhist shrines, pagodas, and ancient carvings. The caves are spectacular, with shafts of light filtering through natural openings in the rock. It’s an interesting, atmospheric, and spiritual place – more textured and surprising than most day trips, and easily accessible from the resort.
The verdict: Is it worth the stay?
If you ask me, Sheraton Grand Danang Beach Resort & Spa delivers on the luxury coastal escape promise. It’s the kind of resort that works for couples who want to relax, families who need space and kid-friendly facilities, and golf enthusiasts who want world-class fairways, outstanding food and a great spa.
