Get a taste of what it’s like to learn in a Magical Garden

CIS is known for its unique Early Years programme, delivering the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) and UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Development Matters framework through the forest school approach. Children spend at least two hours a day investigating, experimenting, and learning in the natural environment of the Outdoor Discovery Centre.
This upcoming Magical Garden Party gives you and your kids a glimpse of what learning looks like at CIS Kindergarten. Look forward to play-based learning activities in nature that’s linked to the different disciplines taught at the kindergarten, such as:
- Arts: Making your own butterfly or caterpillar crown at Betty Butterfly’s arts studio
- Physical education: Navigating Charlie Caterpillar’s obstacle course
- Languages: Sitting in for a multilingual storytelling session in English, French, and Chinese at Marty Moth’s story corner
- Maths: Decoding maths concepts while you help Sally Spider spin a web at her web city
- STEM: Practising counting and measuring at Aunty Ant’s mud and sand kitchen
Children get a strong start in CIS Kindergarten’s warm and rich learning environment

While your little ones play and learn during the Magical Garden Party, you’ll get to explore the Outdoor Discovery Centre and the school’s dedicated Kindergarten wing. You’ll see learning spaces that are thoughtfully designed to encourage independence, exploration, and collaboration; a glass-enclosed art studio that’s brightly-lit through natural lighting, library just for kindergarteners, indoor swimming pool, wading pool, dance studio, and a 200-seat black box theatre.
But the environment goes beyond just classrooms and facilities; the teachers play an important role in shaping it too. CIS Kindergarten teachers are expert IB educators, who are experienced at tailoring instruction to each child’s developmental stage based on how children play and interact.
You’ll also find that CIS Kindergarten provides children with a rich bilingual environment. The school offers not just one, but two bilingual programmes: French-English and Chinese-English. Children can access these pathways from as young as three years old, where their chosen languages are taught through daily immersion.
Come experience the magic yourselves

Mark your calendars, reserve your spot, and come see the Magical Garden in full bloom at CIS this 25 April, 9.30am till 11.30am. Remember to bring your sun hats and bottles, and get ready for lots of fun and discovery under the sun.
