Whether you're expecting, recovering after your delivery, or wanting to get healthy, these yoga classes will keep you fit, calm and ready to regain your balance
Whether you’re expecting a bubba and looking for a prenatal fitness class, or are feeling ready to regain your strength with a postnatal exercise session, yoga is a great way to bring some mindfulness to your life. Or maybe you’re keen to look after your chakras again after years of running around after toddlers and have realised it’s been way too long since you’ve saluted the sun (a few hands just got raised at HoneyKids HQ)? We’ve certainly been practising our asanas here – and in the process have tracked down the best yoga studios in Singapore where mums can find their strength and balance. Ready? Let’s start with a deep breath and diving into these yoga classes for mums and mums-to-be in Singapore…
Enhance your pregnancy experience with a prenatal class at Pure Yoga (pictured above). Classes are designed to gently prepare your body for labour – woohoo! Learn to ease your mind, relax your body and simultaneously strengthen it for birth in a community of like-minded and supportive mums-to-be. Muscle fatigue and anxiety (especially if you’re a new mum) will soon be a thing of the past.

COMO Shambhala Singapore
This haven for urbanities on the hunt for a calm escape is great for working mums. The prenatal classes help to realign your spine, tone your birthing muscles and ultimately enable you to attain harmony of body and mind. These classes are recommended for expecting mums who are at least 12 weeks into their pregnancy. For postnatal mums, regain strength and stability in your core abdominal area, pelvic floor and back muscles while calming body and mind. If you can’t find a sitter or can’t bear to part with your bub just yet, babies are welcomed – poses will be altered to accommodate to you and your little one.

If you’re expecting and thinking about natural childbirth, the prenatal yoga classes here will help you prepare for this, and relieve symptoms like swollen feet and anxiety. For the postnatal stage, classes are gentle enough to be carried out with a newborn. Or if you’re simply too exhausted to make your way down to the studio, simply the friendly staff a message to arrange personal yoga classes.

This boutique yoga studio perched in the middle of the eclectic Kampong Glam neighbourhood dismisses the ‘one size fits all’ approach that some other yoga studios adopt. Teachers take it upon themselves to learn the needs of each individual student – very handy in your prenatal and postnatal stages. For expecting mums, relieve your physical discomfort by stretching out in asanas (poses) altered to suit different trimesters. Postpartum, expect to calm your mind with regular classes designed to gently ease you into recovery. Bonus: One-on-one classes are also available if you’re in need of privacy.

Mother and Child
Mother and Child is your one-stop centre for all things baby-related. Find gentle, easygoing prenatal classes here for mothers-to-be (after the twelfth week of pregnancy) – perfect for helping new mums cope with pregnancy and alleviate aches and pains. Postnatal-wise, new mummies are advised to wait six weeks after a natural delivery and 12 weeks after a caesarean section before attending a yoga class. The best part? The small and intimate classes help build new friendships too!
