This thing to do in Bangkok with kids celebrates Pride with races, music and kid-friendly activities
If you missed out on the Disney Run Thailand registration, which filled up faster than a magic carpet ride this Monday, we’ve found an alternative thing to do in Bangkok with kids that gets you moving outdoors while celebrating the spirit of Pride Month.
Taking place this weekend on Saturday 30 May at Suan Luang Rama 9, The Rainbow Fun Run is back for its 13th edition with an uplifting theme, “Inclusion is Power.” It’s all about showing kids that a great society is one where people of all ages and abilities are given equal opportunities, while encouraging diversity, kindness and understanding.
Organised by The Rainbow Room Foundation, Thailand’s first neurodiversity awareness centre, the event brings together a fun-filled morning run alongside kid-friendly activities such as tree-climbing adventures and live music.
Beyond the run itself, the morning also helps raise funds to support the foundation’s neurodiversity awareness programmes.
The online registration form has closed, but you can still register via Line Official: @therainbowfunrun or on-site until 29 May at The Rainbow Room Foundation, Gymboree Rama 3 and The Bedroom Company – Ari.
What is The Rainbow Fun Run?

This thing to do in Bangkok with kids is a charity run created by The Rainbow Room Foundation. First launched in 2012, the event was designed to bring families, children, and communities together in a fun and welcoming outdoor space.
The goal of the event is to help kids understand that everyone is different in their own special way, and that people of all abilities deserve kindness, respect, and equal opportunities.
Over the years, it has grown into one of Bangkok’s feel-good family community events, filled with music, outdoor fun and positive energy.
For more than 16 years, The Rainbow Room Foundation has supported neurodivergent children, adults and families in Thailand while helping create better understanding about neurodiversity in society.
Beyond being a fun morning outdoors, it also encourages families and communities to build a more inclusive society, promotes healthy movement for people of all ages and abilities, and helps raise funds for the foundation’s neurodiversity awareness programmes.
Inside The Rainbow Fun Run: what families can expect

Here are some fun highlights families can look forward to:
Kids races and family-friendly fun
Unlike typical running races, the atmosphere here is welcoming and relaxed rather than overly competitive. There are several race categories for different energy levels, including a special race for kids as well.
- Fun Run 10km: starts at 6:30am
- Fun Run 3km and 5km: starts at 6:45am
- Original Kids Run 50m: starts at 8am
Tree climbing adventures

One of the activities is the tree climbing experience led by volunteer arborists from BIG Trees Project and their partner organisations. Kids can safely climb, explore and see nature from up high.
Live music and a full-blown festival celebration

Expect upbeat live music, cheerful crowds and plenty of feel-good energy throughout the morning as families gather to celebrate diversity and inclusion together.
Medals, shirts and finish-line excitement

All registered runners receive a commemorative t-shirt, race bib and a shiny medal waiting at the finish line.
Facilities and runner support
To help make the morning comfortable and family-friendly, the event also includes water stations every 2km, refreshments at the finish line, first aid services and ambulance support.

Why families are excited about this event

What makes this thing to do in Bangkok with kids special is that it feels more like a joyful community festival than a serious race. It is also a kid-friendly way to celebrate Pride Month through fun, inclusion and togetherness.
Kids can run, climb trees and dance to live music while parents support a meaningful cause and enjoy quality time outdoors together. It is the kind of event that leaves everyone sweaty, smiling and feeling part of something bigger.
