We here at HoneyKids’ Headquarters did a collective air punch when we heard that Shakespeare in the Park was back this year with one of our all-time faves: Romeo and Juliet! We can’t wait to pack a picnic, spread out our wine, cheese and gourmet goodies on a blanket under the stars (please don’t rain!) and see one of the world’s greatest love stories brought from the page to the stage in typical Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) amazing fashion. The classic tale of family feuding, star-crossed lovers, romance and tragedy bursts onto the outdoor stage at Fort Canning Park on 27 April and will captivate audiences through to the end of May.
The friendly festival atmosphere makes for a suitably romantic date night (or girls night out if the other half can’t be persuaded that Shakespeare, SRT style, really IS cool) and is also perfect for a fab evening out for families with older kids who might fancy a bit of culture (plus it never hurts to show the kids that there are families with WAY bigger issues than who gets next dibs on the iPad).
