What Sets This School Apart
We are dedicated to innovative, self-directed and inquisitive learning. “The Nexus Way” is a mindset that guides the school in all that it does. You’ll see this as you walk around and discover the classroom spaces that were designed to be flexible, collaborative and innovative. Children are often not sitting at desks in a row, rather scattered in different spots throughout the classroom. Teachers are also not always standing at the front.
We are an Apple Distinguished school, which means we use technology to enhance our learning experiences in innovative ways. An example of this is in our Makerspaces which is where art and science come together and children create. For instance, when Pokemon Go was first introduced, our learners wanted to move the virtual to reality. They analysed, and created a Pokemon ball with 3D printers. They then added electronics to flip it open, allowing them to ‘catch them all’.
Exciting New Developments
We recently just launched the first co-working space within a school campus in Singapore! Nexus parents are now able to simplify their schedules and commute with their children. We are also directing new efforts towards sustainability. Our learners have started gardening, with both outdoor plots and indoor hydroponic units which become crops that we use in our cafeteria. We have also recently installed an e-waste recycling bin to raise awareness and make it more accessible for our Nexus community.
