Let’s celebrate! Nexus clinches two coveted gold awards at the Singapore Education Awards 2021.
Throw out everything you know about schools: the usual learning methods simply don’t cut it these days. Parents are constantly on the lookout for unicorn schools that stand out from the crowd, with a direction and environment that’ll develop their child holistically.
Nexus International School (Singapore) excels in this very aspect, offering an innovative approach to teaching in an innovative learning environment. And this certainly shows – Nexus has clinched two coveted gold awards at the Singapore Education Awards 2021 for both Best Innovative Learning Environment, and Entrepreneurship in Education.
It previously also snagged multiple awards for Junior Achievement Company of the Year, namely Team REVIVAL for Singapore 2020 and Asia Pacific 2021, and Team ScrapCap for Singapore 2021. Much deserved, might we say!
It’s all in the results
It’s easy to see why: Nexus’ flexible and conducive learning spaces include collaborative and exhibition spaces, quiet zones, as well as advanced Design & Technology rooms. What an environment to learn and thrive in!
In addition, Nexus’ approach creates stellar learning outcomes across the entire school. For example, the 2021 IBDP results saw a 100% pass rate for IB Diploma students. To sweeten the deal, the average IB score of 37 outshone the global average of 33, with 40% of the students achieving a minimum of 40 out of 45 points. 44% of the students even received a Bilingual IB Diploma, imagine that!
Entrepreneurship is at Nexus’ very core
Nexus takes the value of entrepreneurship very seriously, incorporating it into the curriculum. For the Junior Achievement Company of the Year competition, the learner-led company – ScrapCap created hats made out of recycled school uniforms, garnering a high volume of orders in a short amount of time – successfully turning the judges’ heads. This is exactly how innovation and entrepreneurship work together hand in hand.
