Looking for new glasses for your kids? Check out our junior reporter’s review of Lenskart’s kids glasses range, Hooper.
We at HoneyKids HQ love sharing reviews and recommendations of family experiences and products with our readers. But when it comes to kids’ products, we figured it’s best that you get a review from kids themselves. After all, we know something is bound to be good if it passes the kids’ test.
In this edition of our junior reporter series, we asked 10 year-old Elhan to share his thoughts about Hooper, Lenskart’s kids’ glasses range. Designed for kids and teens, these are eyewear that are tailored to their needs in terms of design and comfort. Plus, they’re more sturdy and durable (cue collective sigh of relief from parents).
Read on for Elhan’s review of his new Hooper glasses, as well as the complimentary eye check experience at Lenskart, to see if these are indeed kid-approved.
Junior reporter: Trying out Hooper, a glasses collection that’s made for kids by Lenskart
Picking a frame

The first thing that captured my attention was how colourful Lenskart’s Hooper glasses collections are. There are frames in all sorts of colours, styles, and shapes. Maybe the rectangle or square frames in darker colours to avoid looking nerdy? I also wanted glasses that don’t slip easily, but I didn’t want them to be too tight as it would be uncomfortable after a while.
After going through all the Hooper frames in the store, I narrowed my choices to two: a simple black frame, and a cool-looking electric blue one. My parents said the black frame was more timeless, so I settled for that.

The store had my records as my parents got my first pair of glasses from Lenskart. After checking, the shop assistant informed us that I was entitled to its buy-one-free-one promo on all glasses as my mum is a Lenskart Gold member. That meant that I could get the cool blue frames too. Hooray!
Getting a complimentary eye check
After choosing my frames, the next step was to get my eyes checked. My parents would bring my brother and I for regular eye checks at least twice a year to make sure our myopia condition is under control. My parents and I were really happy to see that there has been no changes to my myopia degree.

Then, it’s time to choose my lenses. Out of the five types of clear lenses available, the shop assistant recommended that I try Lenskart’s myopia control lenses. These lenses don’t just slow down myopia progression, but come with blue ray and UV protection, and they’re scratch-resistant. My parents preferred this option too.
We were also informed that Lenskart’s kids’ glasses come with a one-year warranty, which includes exchanging my lenses for free if my eye degree changes within a year.
Collecting my new glasses
My glasses were ready in just a week! Similar to getting the glasses done, the collection process was fuss-free. The shop assistant even gave me a detailed explanation of how the myopia control lenses, which are designed with small pinholes, can help slow down my myopia progression.

Unable to contain my excitement any longer, I quickly put on my new glasses the moment I reached home. It took me just a short while to adjust to these new glasses, I couldn’t help but notice how comfortable and fitting they feel. I’m really happy with how they turn out and started wearing my black ones to school the next day. Since I have two sets, I have a plan to switch my glasses every alternate week, because… why not?
My friends noticed my new glasses almost instantly, and they could also see the little pinholes on the lenses. As the shop assistant explained this feature clearly to me, I felt confident in being able to explain it to my friends as well. It was a great experience getting new glasses from Lenskart.

You can snag a pair of Hooper glasses (or two) from just $75

Thinking of letting your kids try out these junior reporter-approved glasses? You can bring the kiddos to check out the Hooper collection at your nearest Lenskart store, or browse the full collection online. In fact, if you already have your kids’ prescription, you can even place your order through the website or app. Lenskart has a virtual glasses try-on feature that allows you to see if your preferred frame suits you, which we’re pretty sure the kids will enjoy using.
On top of affordability and convenience, all Lenskids (Lenskart customers aged 16 and below) are entitled to a one-time lens exchange should their eye degree change within a year of purchasing their Lenskart glasses. This is really useful as a child’s eyesight may change within a matter of months, especially when they’re going through puberty.
Pro-tip: sign up for a Lenskart Gold membership to enjoy its buy-one-free-one promo on all glasses and sunglasses. The membership only costs $20 a year, and can be shared with family and friends. This is especially useful if you have more than one family member who requires prescription glasses. Even if you don’t, you can still use this deal to get yourself a trendy pair of sunnies – win, win!
