La Petite Ecole is a family-friendly, international early years and primary school in Singapore. The school synergises some of the best practices of international education and the national French curriculum since 2012. Accredited by the French Ministry of Education and a partner of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), it is a plurilingual school with a core focus on the well-being of children, their personal development and academic progress.
The school welcomes families from all walks of life and is not limited to French-speaking children only. In September 2023, the school will welcome students from N1 (TPS in the French school system) to P3 (CE2), extending all the way to P5 (CM2) in 2024.
La Petite Ecole offers a comprehensive bilingual education, where all classes and activities are co-designed and taught in two languages by native English and French speaking teachers. An introduction to Mandarin is also part of the curriculum for all students. The teachers are all experienced and qualified in early childhood and primary school education in their mother tongue.
A new trilingual programme for preschoolers featuring English, French and Mandarin with more frequent co-teaching will be launched from September 2023 onwards. This initiative further enhances students’ problem-solving, divergent, abstract and creative thinking skills, equipping their communication abilities with increased cultural awareness.
La Petite Ecole is currently located on two different sites, one in a green setting off Bukit Timah road, and the other at the heart of the French hub – Alliance Française, in the Newton area.
The school will be regrouping both locations to its brand new premises in One Holland Village in January 2024.
La Petite Ecole Singapore is a member of the French international education group – Odyssey, based in Paris, founded and chaired by former French Minister for Education – Mr Luc Chatel. The Odyssey network currently brings together thirteen schools across Europe, Africa and Asia, as the group expands to include more schools to its network in the coming months.
