We don’t know about you, but we’ve always been fascinated by Peranakan culture. There’s just something about the Peranakan heritage that’s incredibly intriguing, and we can’t get enough. Plus, can we talk about how incredibly delicious the food is? We decided to take our little obsession one step further, and organise our first-ever Peranakan-themed event — we’re super excited!

Try out various Peranakan-themed activities
Channel your creative juices, and try your hands at traditional Peranakan tile painting with The Intan. Keep a lookout for our HoneyKids Asia team, who will welcome you with a batik kit painting activity.
Sample Peranakan delicacies… and ice cream!
Feeling peckish? Go all out and shop for lots of delicious snacks at HarriAnns Nyonya Table, which is well known for its savoury and sweet Peranakan yummies.
Traditional treats aside, the folks at Kind Kones is giving out free scoops of ice cream this weekend, and you get to choose from three yummy flavours: pulut hitam, pandan gula melaka, and watermelon. Simply collect a redemption voucher from any of our HoneyKids team members at the event (it’s easy to spot us – we’re dressed in pink!), and redeem your free scoop from the Kind Kones ice cream cart.
Note: Limited Kind Kones vouchers available and are given out on first-come, first-served basis. Each attendee can only claim one voucher, which is only valid on 23 and 24 August 2025. Flavours available are on a while-stocks-last basis.

Sit back and enjoy the show
We’re talking about a fascinating storytelling session by Julia Gabriel (3pm-4pm), the opportunity to try various musical instruments with Aureus Academy, a dynamic dance performance (plus mini dance class!) by The Dance Place (11.30-12pm), as well as a stage and roving magic performance by Max Ling’s Magic Show (4pm-5pm) – all following the weekend’s Peranakan theme.

There’ll also be a catwalk competition (1.30pm-2.30pm; registration is now closed) for the little models to strut their stuff. Feel free to come dressed in your best Peranakan outfits; if you don’t own one, The Intan has a gorgeous range available for rent. The winners will walk away with bragging rights, as well as these prizes:
