Celebrate Chinese New Year on Sentosa
This Chinese New Year – aside from feasting, drinking, and visiting relatives – pay a visit to our favourite Island with your little troopers for an interesting, festive dose of Chinese heritage and culture! Catch renowned performing troupes from China, along Merlion Plaza to Beach Station, on Sentosa from 31 Jan to 2 Feb 2014 at Sentosa Celebrates Lunar New Year 2014.
Catch breathtaking aerial acrobatics performances by Zhengzhou Star Acrobatics Troupe at the Merlion Plaza. This talented troupe has travelled all over the world to perform for international audiences and won several illustrious awards. They specialize in using aerial cubes to form different shapes, like the Chinese knots that symbolise happiness and goodwill, with extraordinary balancing and flexibility! The littlies will also watch in awe their heart-thumping routine, the ‘Flying Ropes’, where the performers will swing swiftly and gracefully on ropes in mid- air.
The other highlight of the celebration is the adorable and furry Northern Lion family of four by the Baoding Flowers Lion Dance Team. Armed with 48 years of performing experience and numerous international awards, the lions willdance to the rhythm of the drum. The playful and adorable Northern Lion, which is different from the Southern cousin that Singaporeans are familiar with, represents kindness and family bonds. So don’t be taken aback when the furry cub tries to get close to the kids with its colourful ball, wanting to have a game of football!
Get ready for the luminous LED Dragon Dance performed by an award-winning Wenyang Sports Association (Singapore)! Feast your eyes on the beautiful lights and glittering dragon that dance and twist with magnificent skills and speed, bringing you good luck and fortune this New Year.

Rest your feet at the Inn Teahouse for a quick bite and appreciate nostalgic tastes in these modern times. Enjoy tea, snacks and local delights at our version of a traditional Chinese teahouse.
