It’s Chatsworth International School’s third consecutive year winning Gold for ‘School Where Everybody Knows Your Name’!
Warm, small-school feel in a school with an illustrious 30-year history? That’s Chatsworth International School! The school now boasts two more Singapore Education Awards under their belt – Gold for the School Where Everybody Knows Your Name category (third year running!) and Gold for The Curriculum Awards (International Baccalaureate), for the second year in a row!
What students and families love about Chatsworth International School’s friendly environment

“Each morning, the kids are warmly welcomed and all the teachers take genuine interest in how the kids are going. These small things can have a huge impact on a child’s sense of belonging and security in an institution. All the staff at this international school in Singapore have genuine care for how the children are performing, but more importantly, how they’re developing as good, thoughtful people.” – Rachel Fergus, parent of two Chatsworth students.
Chatsworth attributes this to the school’s senior leadership team being involved in the day-to-day activities, making remembering students and asking about their wellbeing an easier job. Did we mention that teachers (on roster) and leadership team are on gate and in the Nest every morning of the school year? By welcoming students and parents through the gates before and after school, teachers get closely acquainted with every student and have the chance to catch up with parents on a regular basis. You’ll be glad to know the teaching staff knows the housekeeping, maintenance and non-academic staff by their names too!
Opportunities for interaction amongst different members abound in this strong and close-knit community. There’s no shortage of school-wide events happening all-year-round too, encouraging the involvement of students and their families for Culture Celebration Day, Spring Fair, Book Week and more. New students at Chatsworth are also given a warm welcome with assigned buddies (usually of the same year level), along with student orientation.
Among the first in Singapore to offer IB curriculum with the Diploma Programme since 2004

On top of integrating into a rich, holistic experience within a close-knit community at Chatsworth, students also embrace the internationally-recognised curriculum it offers. A critical component of the IB programme and an area that Chatsworth is particularly proud of, is the development of personal attributes called the IB Learner Profile. Students are spurred on to be global leaders of tomorrow by being courageous, caring, balanced and principled.
Chatsworth teachers offer practical opportunities to connect student learning to the world around them, aligning with the IB belief that it is important to make connections, and learn about the world in ways that reach beyond the scope of individual subjects. For example, when the school’s kindergarteners inquired into occupations around the world, educators invited guest speakers including a ballerina, engineer, doctor, car racer, the school’s own staff and more, to share their insights with students. Talk about learning real-world knowledge!
And what does it all amount to, really? Since Chatsworth adopted the full Middle Years Programme (MYP) eAssessment in 2018, the Year 11 cohort has consistently scored well-above world average points year-on-year, which sets them up for success in the Diploma Programme.
Way to go, Chatsworth International School!
