Looking for some fun activities to do with the fam this June holidays? Set aside a few days to explore ArtScience Museum — here’s the insider scoop on workshops, activities, film screenings, and more.
We’re always on the lookout for ways to entertain our little kiddos, and exhibitions are high up on our list. Informative, interactive, and often in air-conditioned comfort, they’re our go-to especially on a hot sunny day. ArtScience Museum is one of our favourite spots, so imagine our delight when we discovered that it actually has tons to offer besides our favourite exhibitions!
Intrigued? Here are a couple of fab highlights that are perfect for the whole fam.
1. Get creative at Artland — A Whimsical World imagined by Do Ho Suh and Children

Mark your calendars for Artland, created by renowned South Korean artist, Do Ho Suh and his daughters. Say hello to an imaginative world that invites visitors — yes, you! — to sculpt unique clay creations to contribute to this ever-expanding fantastical ecosystem. Roll up your sleeves, it’s time to get creative. Each visitor will receive two tubs of randomly-assigned coloured tubs of clay, which you can use to sculpt any creatures or plants of your fancy that inhabit Artland (the sky is the limit), before adding them to an ever-growing series of islands. How fun does that sound!
Looking for a hands-on play workshop? Kids (aged five to six) will love the Slimes, the main inhabitant of Artland. They can try their hand at creating their very own expressive Slime, whilst learning how to recognise and express their emotions. In a workshop for older kids (aged seven and up), discover and learn how the climate remains stable in Artland thanks to the collective responsibility of its inhabitants.
Price: $6 per pax, with special ticket bundles for the whole family available from $18. For an extended experience, sign up for the parent-and-child workshop at $16/pair.
Installation duration: 30 minutes
Workshop Duration: 90 minutes
2. Tug at your heartstrings at the Nana Lou VR Gallery

Go on an unforgettable VR journey with Nana Lou, who reflects on her life’s adventures as her big departure approaches. The VR film is the perfect blend of love, loss, and nostalgia, and is relatable for both the young (11 years and up) and old.
Price: Starting from $12
3. Catch a film at ArtScience Cinema
If your family of film buffs can’t get enough, make your way to ArtScience Cinema. Who even knew there was a cinema at the museum?! This June, cosy up for a screening of Inside Out 2 which, believe it or not, you can do completely for free.
We’ve also got our eyes on Burn from Absence, which will be played across four screens. Interesting, huh! The film marries both nostalgia and technology, where the protagonist uses AI to reconstruct lost memories. Ascent also looks rather fascinating, comprising a photo-film constructed from more than 4,500 photographs contributed by the public.

4. Learn through play at ArtScience Laboratory

Psst, Artland can be found at ArtScience Laboratory (located at B2), which is ArtScience Museum’s new dedicated learning hub! The best part? It’s entirely free to enter. Championing a delightful blend of art, science, and technology, the space presents art and science concepts in a fun and interactive way.
For starters, guests can participate in complimentary walk-in activities where they can learn about particle physics — the building blocks of life — using LEGO!. Or, pit your skills against an artificial intelligence (AI) through a drawing-guessing game to learn about neural networks and how datasets are formed.
Price: Free
Group and school bookings are also available at exclusive rates.
5. Ponder about our Sustainable Futures
Take it from us: it’s never too young to teach the young ones about sustainability. Check out Sustainable Futures, which includes a film festival curated by ArtScience Museum’s team (and supported by the Marina Bay Sands’ Sustainability team) that delves into the connection between humans, wildlife, and nature.

Eight films will be making their premiere during this festival. We’ve got our eyes on ‘Every Little Thing’, a moving documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Sally Aitken, about caring for injured hummingbirds and finding compassion for the tiniest of creatures.
There are also two new family-friendly Disneynature documentaries to look forward to, both of which are making their physical Singapore premiere as part of the festival. Narrated by Hollywood actor Brendan Fraser, ‘Sea Lions of the Galapagos’ dives underwater with Leo, a sea lion pup who is learning how to navigate life alongside his mother in the heart of the Pacific Ocean. ‘Guardians of the Galapagos’, on the other hand, goes behind the scenes with a film crew to showcase what went on during the production and the world that inspired it.
Price: Free
Note that some films require advance registration.
Alongside Sustainable Futures Film Festival, get hands on with nature-focused family-friendly workshops at ArtScience Laboratory every Saturday. These are available at just $5 per person, where you can pick up basic sewing skills and learn how to craft your very own eco-friendly bag out of recycled materials.
Or, how about going on ‘We Are Nature Too’, a tour in and around the museum to find out how we are all connected to nature? Hunt down artworks that feature the connection between humans and nature, stroll through the museum’s green spaces, and record the sights and soundscapes you come across in a digital field journal. Find out more information about these activities here!
When: 29 June to 30 July 2025
BONUS: Have fun at a totally revamped Future World

We know that we were going to talk about stuff other than exhibitions but, trust us, you won’t wanna miss this! Future World reopened its doors on 31 May with a bang, and it’s now bigger and better than ever. Bringing the magic of teamLab to our shores, it’s pulling out the stops with lots of surprises up its sleeves.
So, what’s new about the revamped edition of Future World? The kids will love ‘Water Droplets, Flowing Down a Slope’, where they can observe the behaviour of water molecules by climbing up before sliding down. Don’t miss out on ‘Sketch Umwelt World’, where visitors can view the world through the eyes of various creatures — such as a hawk, butterfly, dolphin — and navigate their way through the artwork. For example, if you choose to be a dolphin, you’ll be using echolocation. How fascinating is that?
Future World’s crowning glory, however, is the new ‘Continuous Life and Death’ art installation. Featuring nature’s cycle of life and death, it comprises larger-than-life flowers that constantly bloom and change with the seasons. It changes based on user interaction: touch the flowers and watch them disperse, before slowly growing back. P.S. Take a moment to see what kinds of flowers you can spot!
Price: From $18 per pax
