Heads up: something blue and magical is coming to the Genting Dream cruise ship this year end, and we have all the deets on how you can have the best time onboard. Get ready for The Smurfs Dream at Sea!
Cruise holidays are always a family fave. They’re all-inclusive, so you don’t need to worry about food and entertainment. For the little ones, entertainment is more than just a swimming pool and kids’ club. Family-friendly cruises like Dream Cruises often have live stage shows, obstacle courses, and even an onboard water park for the kiddos.
And this year-end school holiday, Dream Cruises is taking family cruise holidays up a notch with a brand new immersive onboard experience for the fam: The Smurfs Dream at Sea. That’s right – the Smurfs will be taking over the Genting Dream ship on all of its cruises out of Singapore from 21 November 2025 till 20 January 2026.
Expect the ship to be decked out in the Smurfs’ favourite blue along with the Smurf-iest entertainment for the fam. We’re talking about the Smurfs live stage musical show, a dance foam party where the Smurfs take centre stage, fun and artsy workshops that are all about our favourite blue characters, and even Smurfs-themed culinary session for the kiddos. All of these on top of the chance to meet and dine with Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Clumsy, and Brainy!
Sounds fab? Here are some tips on how you can make your fam’s The Smurfs Dream at Sea cruise an unforgettably Smurf-tastic one.
1. Pack something blue
Pack your best Smurfs-themed outfits! It can be a Smurfs swimsuit for Genting Dream’s waterslide park and dance foam party, or a blue outfit for the Smurfs high tea session (complete with character-themed meals). It’s always more exciting to go with a theme – and it makes for a good family photo opp too.
2. Complete your web check-in as soon as the window opens

Since web check-in is required for Genting Dream, we recommend you complete this as soon as the check-in window opens – which is three days before your cruise date. Packing when travelling with kids is a busy affair, so getting this sorted out in advance gives you more time to focus on packing and prepping the kids.
3. Pre-book your high tea session with the Smurfs

Speaking of the Smurfs high tea session, it’s a good idea to reserve your fam’s spot for this. With character meet-and-greets, Smurfs pastries and drinks, and a surprise appearance in store, this is bound to be one of the most popular dining options onboard. So do book ahead to avoid disappointment. The Smurfs high tea session takes place on the last day of your cruise at Tributes on deck eight.
Pro-tip: Consider reserving a table at Genting Dream’s Umi Uma restaurant if you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine. We’ve heard rave reviews about the teppanyaki dishes, and the kids will love the ‘live performance’ from its chefs too.
4. Plan ahead

With so many Smurfy activities onboard, you might want to pre-plan your itinerary so the kiddos get to try out as many workshops and facilities as possible. Our recommendation: set aside some time for your little ones to play at Little Dreamers Club, as well as participate in activities exclusive to The Smurfs Dream at Sea like The Smurfs Art Attack, Guess the Smurfs Berries contest, and a Smurf-themed kids’ culinary class.
Beyond the Smurfy entertainment, swing by the SportsPlex if you have older kiddos in tow – it’s complete with a rock climbing wall, ropes course, mini golf area, and more. Last but not least, don’t miss spending a day at the water park!
Pro-tip: Definitely include The Smurfs Musical Show into your cruise itinerary. Catchy music aside, we heard that it’s filled with lots of laugh out loud moments that the kids will love.
5. Do a family Smurfs movie and TV marathon
We heard that there’ll be screenings of all the popular Smurfs movies onboard. Check the movie screening timings and head over early to book a nice spot under the stars; or enjoy a Smurfs movie and TV series marathon in your own cabin and suite – Genting Dream has a whole lineup of it in the in-room entertainment system. Whatever your choice is, remember to grab some popcorn or snacks for the marathon.
6. Bring a Smurfy memory home

Can’t get enough of the Smurfs? The kids will be happy to know that there’s limited edition Smurfs merchandise onboard Genting Dream. They’ll also get to bring home exclusive Smurfs stickers when they participate in any of the themed activities.
Ready to start your blue-tiful cruise holiday? Book your fam on The Smurfs Dream at Sea cruise now, and you’ll also get to snag a sweet deal where the third and fourth person in the same booking get to cruise for free!
