Tips to take away from an expert
Paying $10 for a cantaloupe and still having to wonder if there is any nutritional value in it, is slightly annoying. But if we opt to spend extra and buy the organic variety does it mean we’re getting better quality food or are we only avoiding chemicals?
Even if we do decide to fork out, do we break the bank and buy organic everything or do we draw the line at quinoa and quinces? And what about soil quality? If our carrot is organic but isn’t grown in biodynamic soil and picked at midnight under a full moon, does it still count? Because we’re counting the cash and wondering if going organic is worth it.
Here to unmuddy the waters and dish the dirt on (or off) our food is nutritionist, Susie Rucker. With a keen interest in children’s nutrition, Susie will be sharing her tips for walking the tightrope between a healthy body and a healthy bank balance at our upcoming HoneyKids Asia x MumRadar event on Thursday 29 January 2015. Covering off The Clean 15, The Dirty Dozen and everything in between, don’t miss this chance to get practical advice on going organic.
The lovely folk from Supernature, purveyors of all that is lean, green and clean, will also be on hand with helpful hints on go-to products. They’re giving prizes to get the organic juices flowing that bit easier too.
Don’t forget to take home Susie’s fact sheets including tasty (and more importantly – easy) recipes that are great for introducing wee little people to organic food. And to make meal times even easier, our friends at OXO are kindly giving away a stylish and portable OXO Tot youth booster seat and feeding sets for a few lucky people.
We look forward to seeing you at Food For Thought, National Museum Singapore on Thursday 29 January from 10am for this fantastic Mums Mingle. Bring the kids along for a play at the free NMS Play space afterwards.
