Memorabilia and iconic objects in time capsules buried across Singapore over the past two centuries are markers of Singapore’s progress over the years, and give a glimpse into the past.
Frozen in Time: Time Capsules in Singapore, a new travelling exhibition by the National Heritage Board (NHB), illustrates the history of time capsules in Singapore. There have been more than 50 time capsules created in Singapore, each with different stories to be discovered. The oldest known time capsule was buried in 1843, others float on the sea for the public to find. At this exhibit, kids will get to make their own Time Capsule to take home and open in the future.
Check it out today at Toa Payoh Public Library until 29 November 2017, or wait until it heads to a library near you in 2018.
