Lions are one of the world’s most iconic wildlife species and a huge drawcard for the millions of tourists who travel to Africa each year. However, few of those tourists are aware that the lions’ conservation status is listed by the IUCN as Vulnerable or Critically Endangered. As apex predators, lions are critical not only as a key indicator of how well the entire ecosystem is doing but also as a means of maintaining ecological balance.
In the lead-up to World Lion Day on 10 August, conservation-led luxury travel company andBeyond is hosting a live discussion with a panel of wildlife experts to talk about the threats facing the species, and the projects being undertaken to ensure their survival.
Join us on 10 August, 10pm (SGT) / 4pm (CAT), as we connect with a passionate panel of experts from across Africa to discuss the conservation projects that will help promote the growth of Africa’s wild lion populations.
