The Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s newly appointed Principal Horn joins re:Sound in a fun-filled evening, featuring the best of chamber music with winds.
In ‘Musique pour faire plaisir‘ (Music for your pleasure), French composer Jean Françaix takes the quirky music of Francis Poulenc and sets it for wind ensemble, injecting into it his own charm. The whimsical evening then continues with Mozart’s humorous and serious side in two works, ‘A Musical Joke‘ which sounds like it is full of wrong notes, and the amiable Horn Quintet. Ending off the concert is dramatic music from Prokofiev’s ballet Romeo & Juliet, arranged for wind quintet by Andreas Tarkmann.
