About Choltanutkun Tun-atiruj
Managing Editor
Chol is a native Thai and speaks both English and Thai as her first languages. She developed a love of writing as a toddler, spending at least one afternoon a week in her local bookshop, where she would buy a new book every week. As she grew older, her love of reading stayed with her.
She started her career as a junior writer at BK Magazine, covering the nightlife and bar scene. While at BK Magazine, she co-founded the Bangkok After Dark (BAD) nightlife awards. You will also find her talking about Thai nightlife culture on a Netflix’s documentary, “Midnight Asia”. She also led an interview series in which she spoke to people from all walks of life, from underprivileged community individuals to politicians. Combining her knowledge of politics with her creative nature, she wrote about Thai politics for Vice, approaching the subject from a lifestyle perspective and showing how politics can be an everyday life conversation.
In 2021, to further strengthen her knowledge of Thailand, she was contacted by Lonely Planet to contribute to her first travel guidebook about the country. To date, she has contributed to four guidebooks, covering different regions across Thailand. Although she is a city girl at heart, she spends all her free time in nature.
In 2024, she deleted all of her social media accounts (except for LinkedIn) and she’d highly recommend that to everyone.
She is now the Managing Editor of HoneyKids Asia Thailand, and dreams of creating a society in which people again have offline hobbies and fun activities outside work and their electronic devices
