Tanglin Trust School celebrates both 100 years and new Gold wins in the Singapore Education Awards 2024! Keep reading for proof of its academic excellence.
Seeing Tanglin Trust School’s current 2,850-strong student population and world-class academic offerings, you would never have guessed its humble beginnings in 1925 started with just five students at the Tanglin Club! On top of celebrating its centenary this year, the school also welcomes three Gold wins at the recent Singapore Education Awards – the first being the Gold award for Singapore International School of the Year.
Tanglin has always been known as a school that embraces its rich heritage while celebrating Singapore’s diversity. True to its mission to foster a dynamic learning community that nurtures and inspires every student, Tanglin supports its students to be open-minded and balanced individuals in the best possible learning environment.
A bespoke curriculum with an ever expanding Co-Curriculum Programme

Tanglin’s unique framework blends the British Curriculum with an international perspective. At Sixth Form, Tanglin is the only school in Singapore offering both ‘A’ Levels and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), allowing students to choose the path that best suits their strengths.
And don’t get us started on the world-class Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) on offer! Starting in the Infant School, children explore music, crafts, and Forest School. In Junior and Senior schools, the CCA programme incorporates a variety of sports, musical theatre, and the annual Whole School Hackathon. The CCAs also provide academic stretch through activities like Debaters, Model United Nations, and World Scholars, with students competing locally and internationally.
After successfully hosting 1,492 students on residential trips in 2024, Tanglin plans to give more students such opportunities as part of its centenary. In 2025, Tanglin will launch the Highlands Programme (a five-week experiential learning experience for Middle School students) at the new Tanglin Gippsland campus in Australia.
The proof is in the pudding! Did you know Tanglin is typically recognised as one of Singapore’s top three International schools for IB results, and is a top 20 IB school globally? The combination of holistic learning alongside academics resulted in Tanglin’s 2024 IB cohort achieving a provisional average Diploma score of 39.1 points, 8.8 points above the world average of 30.2.
Gold wins for ‘International School with the Most Future-Ready Students’ and ‘The Curriculum Awards (British)’

The judges not only gave Tanglin kudos for Singapore International School of the Year, but have also coined it the double-Gold winner of ‘International School with the Most Future-Ready Students’ and ‘The Curriculum Awards (British)’!
Tanglin continues to cultivate future-ready students through its distinctive offerings, including The Institute @ Tanglin, a forum which promotes excellence, provides thought leadership, and encourages discourse. There’s also the newly launched “The Future Of” speaker series, featuring talks by industry leaders on emerging trends such as AI, robotics, and geopolitics, offering invaluable perspectives on topics that will shape everyone’s future.
Wondering how else Tanglin’s students consistently demonstrate future readiness? They get the opportunity to interact with practising physicians thanks to medically focused CCAs like Tanglin’s MedSoc, gaining insights into life as a doctor and medical school options. The Shell NXplorers Programme is another outlet where students can design practical solutions to sustainability issues, developing skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and pitching as they present to industry experts. And to give back to the community, Tanglin encourages students to partner with local charities like Love, Nils and Foot from the Heart, and has also been working with the educationally focused charity, Caring For Cambodia for over 20 years. All these service learning initiatives foster committed and compassionate students. Warms our hearts just thinking about it!
Why we love Tanglin Trust School
We can’t help but be proud of how far Tanglin has come, achieving 100 years of academic excellence through a proven curriculum and activities that resonate deeply with students. Its students also continue to impress well beyond their years in Tanglin, with the 2024 graduating cohort having received offers from 177 different institutions across 23 countries. Its robust UK-based alumni network also means many graduates are happy to return to Tanglin to offer guidance and insights to current students about their academic and career journeys in the UK (a leading university destination!).
