Cycling is a great way to kick start your greener lifestyle. This course is meant for people interested in cycling as an alternative mode of transport. The focus will be on cycling etiquette, safety and maintenance. The course is meant for new and intermediate cyclists who do not, as yet, consider cycling to be their main means of transportation.
Requirements and Remarks:
Minimum age: 5 years old
Maximum age: 45 years old
Participants may bring along their own bicycles (No trainer wheels). When seated on the bicycle, both feet must be flat on the ground and knees able to bend to maximise learning. If bicycle is deemed by trainer to not be a proper fit or if participant does not have a bicycle, they may rent it from the trainer for $15 per bicycle and helmet. Rental Fees are to be paid to the trainer directly via PayNow.
Participants will have the opportunity to (a) gain knowledge and practice equipment safety, (b) personal
safety, (c) venue safety and (d) cycling safety.
Beginners will learn:
(1st milestone) To balance on two wheels.
(2nd milestone) To start pedaling independently.
Participants will be grouped up according to 1st or 2nd milestone to maximise learning (i.e. differentiated coaching).
Participants to bring and be attired in the following:
1. Covered shoes
2. Long socks / Long tights (covering full length of legs to minimise scratches from pedals)
3. Gloves (if any, to prevent blisters from gripping too hard)
4. Helmet (if any)
5. Elbow and Knee guards (if any)
6. Full water bottle
7. Light snacks
