Celebrate Mother’s Day with a 3-course high tea at The Rose Veranda, an institution renowned for its sophisticated traditions of English high tea since 1991.
The afternoon begins with an array of savoury sandwiches – Strawberry Lobster Slaw Sandwich, Tian of Avocado, Chicken Aioli, and Caramelised Peach, and Foie Gras Tart with Granny Smith Apple and Candied Ginger. Set to be mum’s favourite is the Classic Egg and Ham with Truffle Pressed Panini.
The choice of main course highlights delectable options such as Poached Salmon Roulade with roasted cauliflower, green pea purée, and yuzu and burrata sauce, or the succulent Grilled Chicken Paillard with honey-glazed roasted pumpkin, apricot cous cous, and finished with coriander sauce. For seafood lovers, Seared King Prawns is served with tomato orzo, Iberico chorizo with mascarpone, grilled asparagus, and finished with purple cabbage espuma.
End off on a high note with a 3-tiered dessert stand brimming with Easter surprises – nibble on Strawberry Yuzu Roulade, La Pomme Rouge, Litchi Raspberry Choux, and Tahitian Mascarpone Canelé. A signature not to be missed is the House Baked Vanilla & Rose Infused Scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam.
Elevate the afternoon with Nyetimber, one of the first English sparkling wine producers to exclusively grow champagne grape varieties. A special wine tasting flight offers 3 glasses at $58++, featuring: Nyetimber Classic Cuvée, Nyetimber Brut Rosé, and Nyetimber Cuvée Cherie Demi-Sec.
For a classic high tea experience, a range of exclusive teas have been handpicked by the hotel’s tea masters from tea producing estates across China, Sri Lanka, India, Nepal, and Africa. Popular options include two teas exclusive to the hotel: The Rose Veranda Signature Tea is a blend of Nuwara Eliya and Dimbula tea from Ceylon, exquisitely flavoured with natural soursop, while the Shangri-La Tea is a robust fruity tea flavoured with natural vanilla & pomegranate.
