October’s huge for the little ones.
So they’re missing out on Oktoberfest, but there’s Halloween and (not so lucky for us) Children’s Day. Here’s how to keep them happily occupied:
1. Little Fashionistas
Head to the National Museum for an interactive tour on wedding dresses. Join a bride and her wedding planner as they quickly put together some last minute details for a grand wedding. Through fun activities, dramatised performances and plenty of interaction, participants will get to meet two colourful characters and learn from them about the designs and stories behind the wedding dresses on display and other wedding symbols. Event details here.
2. Tour the World
A tiny snail longs to see the world, so she hitches a lift on the tail of a huge humpback whale. Together they go on an amazing journey, experiencing sharks and penguins, icebergs and volcanoes. The little snail is amazed by it all, but starts feeling very small in the vastness of the world.
This award-winning children’s book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, creators of ‘The Gruffalo’, is brought to life on stage, combining physical storytelling, live music and lots of laughs – for everyone aged 4 and up. Event details here.
3. Lego Lockdown
The Shell Lego Family Fiesta will give Lego and Ferrari fans of all ages a glimpse of Shell’s range of limited edition LEGO collectibles. The biggest attraction? A life-sized LEGO replica of the 2011 Ferrari F1 car on display! The event will also feature the Shell Constructors’ Challenge – a LEGO speed-building, kid-friendly competition that is sure to be a big draw among the shoppers and families. More details here.
4. Octoburst
Esplanade’s turning 10 and to celebrate, they’ve put together a special calendar of festivities just for kids! 6. Bouncy Castles & Donation Drives
Do good and have fun all at the same time – plus, like we always say, Children’s Day is a great day to teach kids about other kids around the world. Organized by Blessings in a Bag, this Children’s Day fair promises oodles of fun in the form of bouncy castles, card-making, hula-hooping, bubble-blowing, and carnival games… And you get to enjoy it all for free!
