Returning with its third edition for 2023, Bedrock Origin’s The Great Beef & Reef Series presents an exceptional showcase of the finest offerings from both land and sea. From 2 August to 2 November 2023 on Sundays to Thursdays, embark on a culinary adventure showcasing a New Zealand Culinary Voyage.
Delight in a gastronomic experience with the 6-course dinner tasting menu ($168++ per person) or a 6-course dinner tasting menu with Oscietra caviar (add $45++). In line with the ‘New Zealand culinary voyage’ theme, the dining experience can be enhanced with a curated 4- wine pairing (add $68++) with a selection from one of New Zealand’s most iconic premium wine estates. A 5-wine pairing is complimentary during the launch dinner on 2 August 2023 with any order of The Beef & Reef Series menus.
Presenting flavours of the sea, the braised Paua abalone features New Zealand Black wild Paua abalone, a delicacy revered for its tender meat and rich flavour. In a perfect coupling, the Cloudy Bay Chardonnay entices with notes of white peach and ripe citrus.
The confit ora king salmon showcases New Zealand King Salmon from ora king. Ora king salmon are fed a carefully selected, nutrient-rich diet that results in a buttery texture and slightly sweet flavour with subtle hints of umami. Complementing this decadent creation and exclusively for the launch night only is the Cloudy Bay Te Koko. On the palate, it presents mellow oak notes and a lively acidity that perfectly balances the complexity of this dish.
Encompassing flavours of the land is the beef-fat aged NZ Wagyu striploin. A hearty house-made eggplant parmigiana is served alongside, complementing the irresistible Wagyu striploin. Savour the dish with an intense Cloudy Bay Te Wahi, possessing flavours of strawberries and hints of violet on the nose.
The New Zealand Culinary Voyage would not be complete without its national dessert – Pavlova. The dessert sees tangy lemon custard nestled within a swirl of airy, crisp meringue. Coupled with a vibrant raspberry compote and fresh berries, the dessert is a delightful symphony of textures and flavours that serves as the perfect sweet conclusion to the meal.
