How important are Mandarin lessons for kids in Singapore? Is a bilingual education worthwhile, and is preschool too early to start a challenging new language? What is the ‘bilingual edge’ and do kids who learn a second language really have a cognitive advantage? Find out at our special parent talk at Tanderra on Tuesday 26 January at 10am with free coffee and light breakfast – little ones welcome!
We all know that being multilingual is a great asset that puts kids on the path to being savvy global citizens, but what is the best approach and how do you support your child’s language learning process and development, especially if you don’t speak the new language yourself?
Join HoneyKids for a coffee morning at the lovely grounds of Tanderra on Tuesday 26 January to chat with the experts about how learning a new language can give your child a boost, and the best ways to help them learn… we have some fun activities waiting for the kids, too!
Do multilingual children really have better listening skills, greater attention and more capacity for creativity? HoneyKids editor Selina Altomonte brings together two education experts: Canadian International School’s Chinese Curriculum Developer, Huali Xiong, and Researcher Dr. Leher Singh from the NUS Infant and Child Language Research Centre for a dynamic discussion on bringing up bilingual kids in this modern, multicultural city. This is your chance to get personal, expert advice on all the questions you’ve been wanting to ask!
Bring your kids for some pre-Chinese New Year fun to enjoy songs and crafts – children will be supervised by a CIS Kindergarten Chinese teacher during the talk so that parents can make the most out of this event.
