At GESS, students are encouraged to pursue their passions while picking up skills along the way. Just take a look at its new Middle School electives programme!
Sure, having a solid education is vital, but we can all agree that it’s more than just acquiring certificates and grades. It’s also about broadening your child’s mind with life-long skills and giving them the freedom to grow in areas beyond the curriculum. That’s why we’re all ears for GESS – International School’s new Middle School electives programme.
A programme that encourages students to reach their potential
The Middle School electives programme gives students (grades 6 to 8) an opportunity to choose from three categories of electives: arts, outdoor education and fitness, and computing and design technology. This motivates students to develop skills beyond the curriculum and pursue their passions along the way.
Your tween or teen can dabble in visual arts, push their limits in coding and design, and challenge themselves in outdoor activities such as mountain biking. A breath of fresh air from the usual curriculum, the programme inspires kids to make their own decisions, opinions and mistakes, which are vital when they enter the real world.
Tap into a holistic learning approach
Another example of how GESS demonstrates personal growth and experiential learning is the Middle School elective programme’s grading system – or the lack thereof. Students will not be assessed or graded. Instead, the instructors from each elective will share regular feedback to boost your child’s confidence.
