If your kids do sports – whether footie, basketball or even swimming – they run the risk of developing muscle imbalances which raises risk of injury at a young age. Sport injuries account for a quarter of all injuries to children and adolescents and this trend is on the rise due to increasing participation in sports at all ages.
Gleneagles Hospital invites you and your family to Kids in Motion, an Injury-Prevention and Fitness development workshop on Saturday, 27 January 2018. The workshop aims to educate adults and children aged seven to 13 years old on how to exercise safely through short lectures, hands-on exercises and activities. The workshop will be conducted by Dr Lim Yi-Jia, Orthopaedic specialist from Gleneagles Hospital and Andrew Cheong, Head Coach of SSTAR.fitness.
Here’s what to expect:
• Correct postures and techniques to reduce the risk of injury
• Fun exercises for adults and children to improve motor skills, posture, balance and core strength
• Essential warm-up exercises and stretches for injury prevention
Come dressed in sports attire and running shoes and learn how to exercise safely!
