If you’re looking for a great preschool for your little learner, then you’re going to want to RSVP to this fun-packed Early Years Experience Day at Australian International School...
Sound the trumpets (but only if the baby isn’t sleeping) and roll out the red carpet: we’ve found a preschool in Singapore perfect for parents keen for their inquisitive fledglings to have a hands-on learning experience, complete with a Reggio-Emilia inspired curriculum. Australian International School (AIS) is throwing open the doors at its purpose-built Early Learning Village (ELV) on various dates throughout February and March for a number of Early Years Experience Days, so come along – tots in tow – to discover for yourself the big list of things to love about its learning-through-play programs. This new and innovative parent and child experience will run alongside existing monthly Open House events, with sessions providing immersive fun and a first-hand insight into all the great things that make AIS Early Years so special. Don’t forget to register though! This isn’t a drop-in event (it would be chaos if every preschooler in Singapore turned up on the same day!), and slots are allocated to ensure each visiting family really gets a feel for the brilliant programs on offer.
Early Years Experience Day at AIS Early Learning Village
Parents and children (age 18 months to six years) are invited to not just take a look at the top-notch facilities and meet the friendly staff at ELV, but will also have the opportunity to try first hand some of the specialist programs on offer. We have no doubt you’ll discover plenty of reasons to love AIS Early Learning Village, but we’ll kick things off with five reasons we’re big fans of this friendly preschool…
Five reasons to love the AIS Early Learning Village
1. The awesome facilities: A library, dance studio, multi-purpose gym and an outdoor playgrounds are just a snippet of the facilities on offer to ensure small students are kept active both in body and mind at all times. Throw in a swimming pool with UV protected roof and we think we might just want to enrol for ourselves…
2. The attention to detail: The Early Years Team at AIS get kids and because of that they’ve thought of everything. We’re talking beautiful outdoor play decks and small touches including doors and windows at kid-friendly heights. And it’s all designed to encourage little ones on their inquiry-led learning journey.
3. The cool classroom layout: Not only are classrooms named after some of our fave Aussie creatures and critters, but they are grouped together in small clusters to encourage collaborative learning (and an all important easy chat with mates in adjoining classes) and encourage a community spirit. We’re not sure if we would rather be a Cockatoo or a Possum…
4. The extra-curricular activities and specialist programs: AIS has sussed that a little extra goes a long way when it comes to every child reaching their maximum potential, and with programs such as Smart Steps (aimed at helping strengthen and train muscle groups), speech and drama sessions plus daily Mandarin lessons, every child gets the very best start for reaching their learning goals.
5. The inclusion of parents: As parents, we’re not keen on being kept in the dark when it comes to our children’s progress, so news of regular parent workshop programs and an open-door policy is joy to our ears! And to make sure parents really know what little ones are up to, the Storypark App, available to all parents, not only gives a live window directly into the classrooms, but even provides a two-way dialogue function between teachers and parents. Genius! Grown ups are definitely a big part of the AIS culture too!
The bonus – flexible school schedules: Yes, we know we said five reasons, but we couldn’t not mention that AIS understands that not all children are ready for full-time school straight away. Families can choose programs that run for either three, four or five days per week. Hurrah!
