Do kids look forward to going to school? For the learners at Nexus International School (Singapore), absolutely! Read on as they share their favourite moments at school…
It’s really important for your child to have a positive experience with the school they’re attending. Aside from it being one of the places where your child will spend most of their time, it’s also where they learn and socialise with their peers.
This is definitely the case for the learners at Nexus International School (Singapore), with one of them sharing why they enjoy going to school, even on weekends for drama practice! We asked this Nexus family to share what they really love about the school, and the community it has created..
Brothers Ash and Danny love the co-curricular activities
A holistic school experience shouldn’t focus solely on academics, but allow students to thrive in areas of their interest as well. That’s why Nexus has more than 90 co-curricular activities (CCAs) for its learners to choose from! This includes everything from chess and swimming, to niche and contemporary ones like Dungeons & Dragons and race car engineering. With so many exciting options, it’s no wonder that brothers Ash and Danny say that CCAs are their favourite moments in school!
Ash, who plays football in Nexus, said, “The coaches are really kind and funny, and I just have a lot of fun!” Danny, on the other hand, loves attending his drama practices – even if it means coming to school on the weekends. “It’s quite fun just catching up with your friends on the weekends, inside of school without lessons,” he said.
The cafeteria is one of the top hangout spots
As creating enjoyable environments is one of the school’s core values, Nexus put in extra effort to make every space in the school – whether it’s for learning or leisure – the best for its learners. From having state-of-the-art facilities to effective learning spaces, no expense is spared to make sure its learners enjoy being at school.
The Nexus cafeteria is one of top hangout spots for students. According to Mia, it’s the friendly atmosphere there that makes it her favourite place.
It’s not just the students who love Nexus – but the parents too!
For parents Sukh and Dali, they really appreciate the holistic approach that the school offers for its learners’ education, as well as having a strong sense of community for the parents.
“The school has a very open attitude to parents coming into school and meeting other parents. It’s a very nice community,” Sukh shared.
