Excitement levels are high this week, with evening outings, Star Wars boot camps and incredible Asian street food. Bring it on!
After our National Day shenanigans last week, we’re looking forward to some quiet time this week. But of course, we’ll go on the odd adventure and this week we’re super excited about the start of Singapore Night Festival and Street Eats at Resorts World Sentosa. You and the kids will have a heap of fun with what we’ve got happening this week.
1. Head over to the Singapore Night Festival
The Singapore Night Festival returns for its second year, kicking off on Friday 17th August. The kids will love the interactive light installations that turn the facades of the National Museum of Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum into ephemeral works of wonder. We cannot wait to see the lawn at the National Museum of Singapore transformed into a forest below the sea and we know the kids will love it too!
2. Get ready for the Star Wars Rebel Boot Camp
Calling all SingTel Circle customers! Star Wars fans aged seven to 12 years will go nuts as the UE Convention Centre is transformed into something straight out of the Star Wars universe. At the Star Wars Rebel Boot Camp, Star Wars buffs will have loads of fun tackling an obstacle course, a Jedi experience and they’ll even get to meet Star Wars characters. SingTel Circle customers can choose one of the four sessions: 18 August: 10am-12pm, 2.30pm-5pm or 19 August: 10am-12pm, 2.30pm-5pm.
3. Discover The Little Prince: Behind the Story Exhibition
If you’ve ever read The Little Prince, you’ll know how captivating the story is. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of the much loved book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this exhibition at the Singapore Philatelic Museum tells us how the story came about, and stories of the writer’s unusual life from his time as an aspiring aviator and writer to his journeys as a pilot and mailman across two world wars. Meet the unforgettable characters from The Little Prince, journey into the secret garden and snap a few shots of the brilliant sculptures on display.
4. Come hungry for RWS Street Eats
How good is it when you can incorporate food into your day out? And not just any food…we’re talking Pho Bo, Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Flying Roti Canai! Resorts World Sentosa is bringing back its super delicious Street Eats for a second year, running from 9th until 19th August. They’ll showcase Asia’s most iconic hawker dishes, with more than 20 food stalls showcasing food from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
5. Jump the day away at a trampoline park
Desperate to tire the kids out? There’s no better way to do that than taking them trampolining! You’ll get a kick out of seeing the delight on their faces as they jump about at one of Singapore’s impressive trampoline parks. Don’t forget the sticky socks and make sure you book in advance to secure your preferred time slot. Happy jumping!
