Monday, Monday! And while there’s no public holiday to look forward to this week, there’s still plenty of fun to covet with the small, medium and large kiddos in tow. What’s on this week in Singapore? Lots! Get ready for craft, workshops, storytelling and a blockbuster movie…
1. Pick up a new skill
Bundle the kids over to the Indian Heritage Centre (level one) on Tuesday between 4-6pm for a fun, free and fab Sikki Grass Weaving Workshop. Find out all about Singapore’s Indian community while using golden coloured grass to create everything from trays to boxes and even jewellery, with live demos happening by traditional craftsmen.
2. Busy yourselves with CNY craft
Once you’re done working your way through our own fun guide to CNY craft ideas, head over to Pip’s Playbox at The Esplanade for a free Fortune Koi Fish craft session. It’s happening from 1-28 February, and the kids will get to bring home their very own fishy DIY decor.
3. Treat the fam to a bucket of popcorn
Movie of the moment – How to Train a Dragon: The Hidden World – is hitting the silver screen this week! We can’t wait to catch more of Hiccup and Toothless’ adventures in one of our fave animated movies series.
4. Head to the library
5. Visit one of Singapore’s best tinkering corners
Whether you’ve checked it out a hundred times already, or are a newb to the amazing indoor play spot that is Playeum, there’s still a couple of months left on the current Going Play-Ces: A Wanderful Exploration of New Lands exhibition, and kids never get tired of that off-the-scale cool tinker space. Pop it on your ‘essential rainy day activity list’, stat.
