With CNY behind us this week we’re feeling a spring in our step what with Valentine’s Day coming up on Thursday. But aside from celebrating love, we’ve also got plenty more to look forward to with the kiddos in the days ahead…
1. Join us for free messy play
If you have bubs aged zero to 30 months then you need to know about our lovely HoneyKids Playgroup happening this Saturday with our good friends from Learning Vision. Messy play (that you don’t have to clear up after), circle time, singalongs, goody bags and bucketloads of fun: what’s not to love? RSVP for the last few spots at the location nearest to you.
2. Introduce the kids to theatre
Our kiddos are pretty excited about Child’s Play – The Story of the Banyan Tree, which kicks off this week for its third outing as part of the Huayi Festival of Arts. Adapted from classic local folklore, kids aged six to 11 years are invited on a theatre production adventure of epic proportions. Did we mention no grown-ups allowed? Giant pythons, kampung scenery and brave young kids: your little ones will be part of the teamwork and problem-solving that go along with the plot.
3. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a spot of craft
This week we’re breaking out the art box and whipping up these fun Valentine’s crafts for an easy crafter-noon project full of love. Perfect if you’ve left it too late to find a decent Valentine’s Card for your other half. #justsaying.
4. Send your teens out to make new friends
We think it’s fair to say that entertaining teenagers can be a little, um, tricky, and one of our favourite libraries in the land totally gets that. Send your kids age 13 years and older for an afternoon of games, snacks and discussion on trending topics with new friends at the Teens Only@Woodlands Regional Library. It’s happening on Wednesday, 1pm until 6pm, and it’s free with no registration required.
5. Enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Calling all superhero fans to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This Thursday Sands Expo and Convention Centre is transforming into a red carpet fan event for all things Captain Marvel from 7pm. The fun is all free, but you will need to register before you fly on over due to space limitations.
BONUS: Date night for parents
We can’t let Valentine’s week slide by without mentioning our guide to all the suitably romantic feasts happening in the coming days. Ditch the kids, put on your loveliest non-parental threads and get yourselves out on the tiles, mums and dads.
