Take a peek at our video to see how the folks at Hillside World Academy celebrate diversity and different cultures.
We’re privileged to call a multicultural city like Singapore home. We get to interact with people from all walks of life and different races, nationalities and cultures every day. And yet, there’s still so much to learn about the ways of life and customs of other people in countries around the world. That’s why the folks at Hillside World Academy (HWA) recently celebrated United Nations Day – it’s a fun way to teach students about culture, diversity and even climate change! Watch our video to find out how Hillside World Academy (HWA) teaches its students different cultures through an entertaining, engaging and interactive day of activities!
Sharing knowledge of different countries
There’s no better way to teach kids about different cultures than with hands-on activities. And at HWA, its students are researchers – so prior to the event, they were tasked to do research on different countries. Afterwards, they had the chance to present and share their knowledge at their individual booths through awesome and uber-informative presentations and games.
A travel photography and art contest
The students also had a chance to participate in a travel photography and art contest where they showcased their artistic talents through photographs and art. Check out these artists in the making!
Learning about climate change
They also learned more about climate change and how it affects the world. Through this session, the children were able to get an in-depth look at this important topic with fun activities.
