Exploring Bali with Kids
Always wanted to ride an elephant? Fancy being a pirate for a day or flying on a trapeze? Bali really is a kids’ paradise with plenty of outdoor adventures. We’ll fill you in on the best fun in Bali for the young and the young at heart.
Waterbom
A totally fabulous water park located in the heart of Kuta. Spacious and beautifully laid out, the rides range from the Lazy River (yep, you can take Granny on this one) to Smashdown, a waterslide where you freefall 60 degrees at 70 kilometres an hour – if you dare! If you get there early enough you can hire gazebo for the day, so after Macaroni, Superbowl, and Boomerang have had their way with you, you can take a well-deserved breather. And then go back for more.
Waterbom, Jalan Kartika Plaza, Kuta, Bali, Indonesia, p. +62 361 755 676. Open daily 9am-6pm.
Bali Safari and Marine Park
Hop on the bus and take a safari journey where you’ll see everything from hippos, zebras and lions. Feed an elephant some bananas but if that’s not close enough for you, you can ride one. Or a camel, if you’d rather. If you get hot and bothered there’s a waterpark on site – don’t forget to pack your bathers. Or if you’re feeling adventurous, bring your PJs and stay overnight at the night safari. ROAR!
Bali Safari and Marine Park, Jl. Bypass Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Mantra, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia, p. +62 361 751 300. Open daily 9am-5pm.
Elephant Safari Park
Have you ever seen an elephant painting? Didn’t think so. Well if you want to see this and more then you need to get to the Elephant Safari Park, where you’ll get up close and personal with these gentle giants! You can also stay overnight at the Safari Lodge.

Bali Treetop Adventure Park
You’ll be flying in the treetops at this fantastic adventure park in Bali’s Botanical Garden in Bedugul. There are seven levels starting with the Squirrel Circuit, designed for little ones, to the Adrenaline Black Circuit, which is definitely not for the faint-hearted. No guts, no glory, but safety is a priority at Treetops and the kit is world-class.

Bali Bird Walks
You don’t have to be a twitcher to enjoy this tour! For approximately three and a half hours you’ll walk through some of the most beautiful rice paddies that surround Ubud, and not only get to see a Java Kingfisher and a Scarlet-headed flowerpecker, but also get a wonderful insight into life in rural Bali.

The Pirate’s Bay
Ahoy there, me hearties. Pirate’s Bay is the perfect place for a day of adventure on and off the high seas with treasure hunts, flying foxes, kite flying, and the chance to sing good old fashioned sea shanties while roasting marshmallows on the fire. Don’t miss it!
