If your little one would love breakfast with Hello Kitty, lunch with Superman and dinner with Harry Potter then you're going to need a theme cafe...
Going to a restaurant or cafe in Singapore with kids can be a bit of a hit and miss affair, but throw in the promise of something fun for the kids and, bingo, they’re suddenly on board. One fool-proof strategy? The theme cafe. Whether you fancy a seriously good burger with a side order of rock memorabilia, a sweet treat topped with a purr-fectly cute character, or a bubbling cauldron of magic soup, we’ve found the theme cafes in Singapore the kids – and the growns ups – are going to love…
My Little Pony x Kumoya Cafe
The doors of the My Little Pony pop-up cafe just swung open and you need to gallop over quick with your little fans before it trots back of you town at the end of December 2018. We brought our own small MLP fans along to taste the rainbow – quite literally – and the verdict was a big fat thumbs up. There’s SO much cute in this place you may need sunglasses to shield you from all the colour.

Platform 1094 (the Harry Potter inspired cafe)
If you know the difference between levi-oh-sa and levio-sa, and obsessively find yourself waiting in vain for a wax-sealed letter from a certain magical educational institution, you’ll want to hop on your broomstick and make a trip to this wizardry-themed cafe in Serangoon. Check out the Hogwarts-inspired interior and magic potion mocktails! (The drinks menu includes the real deal for grown-ups, with a signature cocktail called the ‘Goblet of Fire’ that does involve flames.)

DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe
We have to admit it: we’re rather partial to the occasional splurge and spoiling the kids at Marina Bay Sands. And what better way to celebrate all those super purchases than by hanging out with super heroes? Head to the DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe to dine with full sized replica super heroes, chow down on a family-friendly menu, and Instagram pics of the kids eating fries with their new dynamic besties.

Hard Rock Cafe
Check out the cool rock memorabilia on display before ordering a huge ice cream sundae to share while listening to rock tune classics. Hard Rock Cafe not only serves up a large portion of good ol’ rock ‘n’ roll, but it does a pretty mean burger too.

Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe
If your kiddos are still too young for a cat cafe, the next best thing is the whimsical tropical paradise that is Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe over at one of our favourite indoor play spots: Changi Airport. Inspired by Singapore’s national flower, the decor is oh-so-pretty and provides the purr-fect backdrop for Instaworthy Kitty-inspired food and drink treats. It’s open 24-hours a day which is handy for when you’re feline peckish in the middle of the night or on your way to jetting off to somewhere fabulous. Sadly the doors will be shutting on this cute cafe at the end of December 2018, so get your Kitty fix asap!

If your little ones are fans of all things Cartoon Network, then this year-long collaboration with Soup Spoon Union is where you should be heading. Feast on the likes of Adventure Time BBQ drumlets, Powerpuff Potpie and Ben 10 Baked Fries and Meatballs. You’ll be humming the Adventure Time theme for days…

And one for the parents: Central Perk
For those who spent most of the 90s trying to perfect the ‘Rachel’ hairdo while desperately trying to save enough cash for a trip to NYC to hang out on that sofa, Central Perk is exactly where you should be heading for a large serving of friendly nostalgia. Kids won’t have a clue why this coffee shop is anything spesh, but bribe them with a babyccino while you re-enact scenes from your fave Friends series… Or just tell them you’re ‘on a break’.
