When I first heard about Radisson Hotel Chateau de Bangkok, located right in the city centre, I imagined a city hotel with mostly guests who are in Bangkok for business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Formerly a serviced apartment Chateau de Bangkok, the property has been given a new life as a hotel. The property still keeps its original apartment-style layout \u2013 this means bigger, more spacious rooms than your typical city stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s about a 5-minute walk from BTS Phloen Chit \u2013 one of Bangkok\u2019s Central Business Districts \u2013 putting you within easy reach of some of Bangkok\u2019s best shopping spots. You can easily pop over to Central Embassy and Central Chidlom or head a little further to Central World. From there, you\u2019re also close to Siam Paragon (home to <\/span>SEA Life Bangkok Ocean World<\/span><\/a>), Siam Discovery (with <\/span>Madame Tussauds Bangkok<\/span><\/a>). A couple of stops on the BTS line and you\u2019ll also find <\/span>Jim Thompson House Museum<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

And best of all, there are plenty of<\/span> things to do with kids<\/span><\/a> around this area, with many <\/span>indoor playgrounds<\/span><\/a> located inside these malls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Given its prime location, you might expect the rates to be on the higher side <\/span>but room rates actually start at B3,919 per night. So, it is a great pick <\/span>if you\u2019re planning a family-friendly stay where you\u2019ll be out exploring the city or even just a short Bangkok staycation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This 15-floor hotel goes big on space, with 178 rooms and suites to choose from. Each comes with floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping views of Bangkok. Room sizes range from 32 to 57 sqm, so there\u2019s plenty of space to stretch out, especially if you\u2019re travelling with kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

I stayed in a Deluxe room and was lucky to get a corner unit, which came with even better views of the city skyline. The bedroom features a generous king-sized bed that is incredibly soft, alongside a bathroom with a large walk-in shower. There is also a separate living area with a sofa, giving you space to relax beyond just the bed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The design leans towards soft, neutral tones with light wood finishes and a clean, modern feel. Rooms are well-equipped with essentials, including a mini fridge and tea and coffee facilities, along with robes, slippers and full bathroom amenities.<\/span><\/p>\n

What stood out most to me is the space. It feels more like staying in an apartment than a typical hotel room. As I stayed alone, it felt very spacious. So, I believe that for families, there\u2019s more than enough room to spread out. This room type can even accommodate up to three guests, with options such as twin beds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond just a staycation that gave me a break from my messy bedroom and Bangkok\u2019s chaos, I always look forward to the hotel breakfast. The spread here is worth waking up early for.<\/span><\/p>\n

The selection is extensive, with multiple stations covering everything from pastries and cold cuts to hot Thai dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The egg station is made to order, so you can have your eggs just how you like them, from simple boiled eggs to eggs benedict. I went straight for the eggs Benedict, and it didn\u2019t disappoint. The eggs were perfectly poached with a rich, creamy hollandaise, all sitting on a warm, toasted base.<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakfast is served at Chateau Botanique on the second floor, from 6\u201310:30am.<\/span><\/p>\n

After breakfast, the restaurant shifts into an all-day dining spot, serving Thai dishes with a touch of French technique. You\u2019ll find more traditional and even the old recipes cooked in the royal Thai palace on the menu.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Something like <\/span>gaeng rawang<\/span><\/i>, a turmeric-based coconut curry with braised meat and <\/span>khanom chin sao nam<\/span><\/i>, a rare dish of rice noodles served with pineapple and coconut milk that you don\u2019t often see these days. As someone who doesn\u2019t usually eat spicy food, I did find some dishes to have a bit of a kick.<\/span><\/p>\n

For something more casual, there\u2019s Larder & Lounge for a quick coffee or light bite. If you want a rooftop-style spot without dealing with the crowds, head to View Pool Bar. There\u2019s a lifeguard looking after the pool, so you can order a drink while keeping an eye on the kids. Located on the 12th floor, it\u2019s a laid-back space with Bangkok skyline views, open daily from 10am to 7pm.<\/span>

While the hotel doesn\u2019t have a kids\u2019 club or dedicated children\u2019s activities, I didn\u2019t feel like it was missing anything \u2013 mainly because of the rooftop pool on the 12th floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

I spent my morning sunbathing by the pool. Though with Bangkok\u2019s heat, I didn\u2019t end up going in. Still, it\u2019s a calm, open space with sun loungers and shaded corners. Whether it\u2019s a quick swim or just sitting by the pool, it works well for slowing things down after being out in the city. This floor also has a gym, if you feel like fitting in a quick workout.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Radisson Hotel Chateau de Bangkok doesn\u2019t scream a kid friendly hotel, it actually works surprisingly well for families. The rooms are spacious and the rooftop pool gives kids a place to burn off their energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What stands out most is the value. For its prime location, the rates are <\/span>reasonable<\/span>, especially considering how close you are to some of Bangkok\u2019s main shopping and lifestyle attractions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re planning a family stay, a short staycation or even a quick break from the kids while still being in the city, it works just as well.<\/span><\/p>\n
