Gone are the days when malls were just about shopping and food. These days, each department store is packed with new experiences, adding even more <\/span>things to do in Bangkok with kids<\/span><\/a>. So it\u2019s no surprise that MBK Center has jumped on the trend with Cave Fantasy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Created by the company behind the highly successful 3D naked-eye immersive experiences from China, with more than 175 branches and expansions across several countries worldwide. This marks its first branch in Thailand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Opened in February, this immersive space feels like stepping into a glowing virtual world, where everything is interactive, colourful and just a little bit magical.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019d heard a lot about it and as someone who can\u2019t resist this kind of experience, I had to check it out. Safe to say, it brought out my inner child the moment I stepped inside.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like many well-designed immersive exhibitions, Cave Fantasy is divided into different zones, so I could move through the space at my own pace without following a set route.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are two main areas. The Interactive Virtual Park features eight rooms filled with colourful lights and digital visuals. The other area is the Flight Theater. It\u2019s Thailand\u2019s first 3D naked-eye immersive theatre.<\/span><\/p>\n

At check-in, the staff will ask whether you want to start with the interactive zone or catch a theatre session, since each film runs on a schedule. I also liked that the ticket allows re-entry, so I can step out to walk around MBK Center and come back later. You can watch more than one film too, as long as you keep track of the showtimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re going for photos, I\u2019d suggest visiting on a weekday or earlier in the day on weekends. It gets crowded and that makes it harder to get clean shots without strangers in the frame.<\/span><\/p>\n

The interactive virtual park\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

I started my journey in this zone. Each room is hidden behind pitch-black curtains, so you never quite know what you\u2019re about to walk into.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first room I stepped into was Cosmic Jellyfish, where colourful jellyfish-shaped lights floated across the ceiling. <\/span><\/p>\n

Then came Whispering Woods. I\u2019ve seen similar setups in ads before, with glowing hanging bulbs that shift colours, and yes, this space has one too. But seeing it in person hits differently. It\u2019s soft, atmospheric and somehow every angle looks good on camera.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next was Time Matrix Chronicles, a room filled with lines of LED lights stretching across the space. Walking through it feels slightly surreal, like stepping into a digital grid, but without any hesitation. I just keep going, completely drawn in by the lights.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Fantasy Space is a 3D room where visuals seem to come out of the screen without the need for 3D glasses. There are a few different clips playing and if you want to watch them all, you\u2019ll need to spend around 20 minutes here.<\/span><\/p>\n

I only stayed for a few minutes as the moving visuals made my head spin a bit. But even in that short time, it felt intense. One moment I was floating in space and the next, a snake was coming right out of the screen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ball pits and colouring fun<\/span><\/h2>\n

The highlight for me was the Interactive Ocean Odyssey. The name might sound a bit over the top, but it\u2019s actually a white-and-blue ball pit complete with a slide. I didn\u2019t hesitate and jumped straight in. There\u2019s something about it that instantly brings out your playful side. Kids will love it, but honestly, adults can have just as much fun here.<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a large interactive screen where I grabbed a soft bar from the ball pit and used it to hit animated monsters on the screen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Right next to this zone is Ma Liang\u2019s Enchanted Canvas, where you can colour in drawings and watch them come to life on a screen. I coloured a dinosaur during my visit and seeing it appear and move around digitally was surprisingly satisfying.<\/span><\/p>\n

That said, photos are still a big part of this zone. One of my favourite spots was a glowing moon installation that creates a silhouette effect. I took a photo there and it looked like I was standing right in front of a full moon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flight theatre<\/span><\/h2>\n

I was especially curious about this zone. A 4D-style theatre without glasses sounded hard to imagine, so I wanted to see how it actually worked.<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a massive screen, surround sound that fills the entire room and motion seats that tilt, shake and move in sync with the film. On top of that, there are added effects like wind and snow, along with subtle touches that make everything feel more lifelike.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each session features a different film and lasts around 10 minutes. Options include <\/span>Nightmare Roller Coaster<\/span><\/i>, which throws you into a chaotic ride through buildings and zombies, and <\/span>The Furious Beasts<\/span><\/i>, a high-energy battle with giant creatures.<\/span><\/p>\n

I went for <\/span>The Furious Beasts<\/span><\/i> and it felt like being part of the action. One moment I was being lifted into the sky by a dragon, the next I was dropping at full speed. The moving seats and effects made it feel close to a roller coaster.<\/span><\/p>\n

This experience works well for kids of all ages. Younger children will enjoy the colourful lights, ball pits and playful spaces, while older kids can get more involved with the interactive elements and games.<\/span><\/p>\n

The layout is fairly compact, so it\u2019s easy to explore without feeling too long or tiring.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, some areas are quite dark, and certain zones include moving elements and flashing lights, which may feel a bit intense for more sensitive children.<\/span><\/p>\n

The vibe\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Cave Fantasy is like stepping into a futuristic world. Unlike places you visit just for photos, there are kid friendly activities and plenty of things to enjoy. Each zone feels different, and there\u2019s always something to do, so you don\u2019t just walk through and leave. You actually spend time in each space.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s fun for kids, but adults can enjoy it just as much. Whether you come with family, go on a date or hang out with friends, I\u2019m sure it will keep everyone entertained.<\/span><\/p>\n
