As temperatures rise across the city, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is launching a total of 304 \u2018BKK Cooling Centres\u2019 offering air-conditioned spaces where you can take a break from the heat while enjoying <\/span>things to do in Bangkok with kids<\/span><\/a> around the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Starting from <\/span>1 April<\/b>, these spots are open <\/span>from 10am to 3pm<\/b>, which is typically the hottest part of the day. There\u2019s no confirmed end date yet, but the programme is expected to run until around the end of May.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond indoor spaces, the BMA has also introduced 178 BKK Cooling Spots around the city. These are shaded rest areas in public parks, along with 2,806 free drinking water points across the Thai capital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also known as \u201cheat escape rooms\u201d, BKK Cooling Centres transform everyday public spaces into safe, cool environments where you can rest during periods of extreme heat.<\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative is part of the BMA\u2019s efforts to address increasingly intense heat waves in Bangkok, helping reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses by providing accessible places to cool down and stay hydrated.<\/span><\/p>\n

While open to everyone, these centres are especially important for young children, older adults, people with health conditions and outdoor workers, who are more vulnerable to high temperatures.<\/span><\/p>\n
