The Bangkok Metropolitan Authority is trialling electric boat taxis along <\/span>Bangkok Old Town<\/span><\/a>, offering free rides until 28 February.<\/span><\/p>\n

These small electric boats glide along the canal between Hua Lamphong Railway Station Pier and Phra Sumen Fort Pier in Bang Lamphu. They\u2019re quieter than traditional canal boats, produce no exhaust fumes and feel smoother.<\/span><\/p>\n

This pilot project is part of Bangkok\u2019s shift towards cleaner public transport. The electric boat taxis serve 14 piers along the canal, linking key transport hubs with historic districts and local neighbourhoods.<\/span><\/p>\n

The route connects Hua Lamphong Railway Station to Phra Sumen Fort, passing stops such as Thewet Market and other piers near cafes, local eateries and cultural landmarks.<\/span><\/p>\n
