Chinese New Year seems to have sidetracked us a tad from the other big occasion that’s coming up super fast: Valentine’s Day! We say round up a babysitter or enlist your helper, ditch the kids, pull on your glad rags and try a romantic restaurant where you won’t have to order one single chicken nugget. Here’s where we want to be whisked off to on the day of lurve (hint, hint)…
The Knolls, Capella Singapore
If you fancy jetting away with your love for Valentine’s Day, but you can’t leave the
pests kids, then head over to Sentosa instead where you can grab some holiday feels (well, at least for the duration of your meal). Treat yourself to a dining experience at The Knolls where a four-course meal including a Hokkaido scallop carpaccio with cep ragout and avruga caviar, Tajima wagyu beef striploin with foie gras, potato mousseline and beetroot sauce, as well as Atlantic black cod confit with creamy fennel compote and champagne sauce.

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Singapore
If you and your partner love steak, be sure to pop by Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Singapore this Valentine’s Day for an authentic and decadent spread of steak, champagne and chocolate. Order up the steakhouse’s cocktail duo, Cupid’s bow and Cupid’s arrow – a holiday-themed tipple with a mix of vodka, Violettes liqueur, peach schnapps, lemon juice, plum bitters and butterfly pea to close out the night.

The Salon, Hotel Fort Canning
For something simple but elegant, head to The Salon at Hotel Fort Canning for a four-course dinner surrounded by lush greenery. Be serenaded while you dine on a palate teaser of crispy baby squid with sous vide egg, followed by a hearty bowl of Maui onion soup based on the chef’s tried-and-trusted recipe. Select between the nori-crusted baked red snapper or pan-seared black Angus beef striploin. Don’t forget to leave some space for dessert: a classic French opera cake with fresh berries.

Flutes has long held the title as one of Singapore’s most romantic dining spots (we’ve been going there for special occasions since it was at leafy Fort Canning). And, its current location in the breathtaking National Museum only ramps up the romance factor. Plus, the impeccable service doesn’t hurt either! Food-wise, expect to be wowed with dishes like lobster ravioli, vintage beef tenderloin and a creme cheese popsicle. Psst, book before 1 February to enjoy 10% off your dinner!

Zafferano Italian Restaurant and Lounge
There’s nothing more romantic than an unparalleled view of the Marina waterfront while you dine on scrumptious Italian dishes. This Valentine’s Day, say “Ti amo” to your loved one with a sumptuous five-course dinner spread at Zafferano’s. Tuck into a confit of Brittany lobster, a primi of house-made taglioini pasta with Alaskan king crab, Italian seabass with eggplant caponata, Sanchoku wagyu beef sirloin and a pistachio and tonka bean cheesecake. And, pair it with a carefully curated list of wines and a three-course romantic terrace experience at Zafferano’s lounge, including a sharing platter of antipasti, mozzarella cheese pizza and an assortment of desserts. The best part? No kids included (just for the night!).

This Valentine’s Day, celebrate love under a gorgeous night sky or overlooking the Marina Bay skyline with a contemporary Mexican fare at Super Loco with its Amor, mi amor set menu. Packed full of flavours, this four-course set menu starts off with some chips and guacamole, a sharing platter of your choice, a main and a hearty serving of red velvet churros to end the night.

If you’re in the mood for Cantonese with a modern twist, Mitzo is just the ticket. Sip on a carefully crafted tipple aptly named Cupid’s Flute, mixed with Diplomatico rum, Scrappy’s chocolate bitters, lime juice, house-made mandarin orange peel cordial and shaken with red dragonfruit and topped with prosecco. Then, bring on the five-course meal specially created by Executive Chef Nicky Ng. Dine on dishes like Korean-style cheese baked lobster, Wagyu beef with salted egg vermicelli and rose syrup granita topped with mixed berries and served with a lotus paste puff.

Nox Dine in the Dark
No time to glam up (thanks, kids!)? We’ve got the perfect solution: Nox Dine in the Dark! Your romantic three-course meal will be served in total darkness so no need to worry about that pimple you didn’t have time to cover, or the baby food on your skirt… Chow down (as messily as you like, no one is looking) on a decadent menu that includes a welcome drink, two amuse bouches, a three-course meal and decadent petit fours to round off the evening.

Fresh, quality seafood is at the heart of this relaxed seafront restaurant on Keppel Bay – perfect if you’re not feeling your skyscraper heels and LBD. The chilled five-course tasting menu includes salmon tartare, octopus and borlotti bean stew, aged parmesan hand-rolled linguine and more to share with your love. Alternatively, opt for its equally delicious plant-based tasting menu with truffle and sweetcorn cracked wheat risotto, roasted zucchini and crushed eggplant and other veggie delights.

If it’s a splurge you fancy, and somewhere that the kids would turn their nose up at every single thing on the menu, then The Summerhouse is it. Though its garden domes are now fully booked, you’ll still be able to enjoy a four-course sharing menu with sumptuous dishes like shellfish bisque, smoked butter-poached snapper, Sanchoku wagyu brisket, braised king oyster mushroom and apple mille-feuille in the gorgeous dining room instead.

Hidden in the Ginger Garden of Singapore Botanic Gardens, The Halia’s peaceful setting (no kids!) makes it the perfect romantic setting for a special Valentine’s date. Not only is it Halal-certified, but the restaurant’s Valentine’s Day menu is a shared feast of tasty delights, a dessert picnic in the garden and a post-dinner movie coupled with complimentary snacks. It’s a win-win date for us!

Cé La Vi
You certainly won’t be able to top the view at Cé La Vi for Valentine’s Day! Catch the sunset at the iconic rooftop destination and indulge in an extravagant five-course menu featuring a snow crab salad, Kagoshima wagyu beef with uni and caviar, steamed seabass with Oita mushroom emulsion, seasoned Xinjiang spiced lamb chop. Then, finish your romantic dinner with rose romance, a decadent strawberry heart with rose mascarpone mousse and cocoa nibs feuilletine. Can’t bear to leave the kids behind during dinner? Pop by for lunch and savour its lunch menu, where you’ll get to enjoy a selection of dishes in a two or three-course menu.
